Re: The guy who wears #6 in Miami

They pummeled Boston and Chicago because Lebron showed up and dominated.
Yeah, Perkins being traded, Shaq being hurt, and Rondo playing with one arm had NOTHING to do with it....

And the Cavs pummeled a similar Chicago team the year prior(Rose in our playoff series was as good as Rose was in his MVP season) only difference being Loozer(he wouldn't have swung a 4-1 Cavs victory any though.

Re: The guy who wears #6 in Miami

LeBron could be taking his talents overseas in his quest for a ring.

Re: The guy who wears #6 in Miami

Well, I would argue Perkins was a negative in the playoffs for OKC and even in a perfect world, his skillset would not have added much to the Celt's prospects versus the Heat. His apparent weak form notwithstanding, his strength is 1v1 defending in of bigs, which makes him indispensable versus howard, bynum and gasol (08 series.) He is not a formidable help defender and his 1v1 ability is useless versus the Heat's pupu platter of bigs.

The Cavs pummeled that Chicago team and shoulda pummeled the Boston team and shoulda rolled to a title. IMO, Labron Cavs are similar in talent and title ability as the current Heat.

But, my ultimate point is that the Heat, like the Cavs, go as Lebron goes. That should be comforting given what he has shown thus far in his career and what this forum thinks of him.

LeBron in the heart of Cleveland tonight playing rec ball at the Word Church...

Received a LOT of love from the locals tonight. It was eye opening. Mingled with us afterwards too.

The more I see him spending his offseason in Akron AND in Cleveland, the more I think we maybe took it too personal (Puts on flamesuit). Maybe it WAS a business decision and a very hard one at that.

Can't lie, it was pretty surreal to watch him play up close after everything that's transpired over the past year. He and Cleveland have been through a LOT.

And then I think about how much of a d!ck he was on Dec 12(?) when he returned to Cleveland and showed out every chance he got. Then I think about how long it took for us to get a half ass apology on how he handled "The Decision".

Do they play three-quarter pickup games at that church? :chuckles:

He showed out when he wore Wine and Gold too. Remember how mad Ray Allen got? Or how pissed Jokiam was? It's part of his game. We dished it, now I guess we gotta receive it.

Ok but picked such a great time to do it. Knowing how p!ssed Cavs fans are at him. EGO.

I hear ya. I'm in no way a LBJ apologist. I just think we hate him wayyyyyyy more than he hates us. He found the best opportunity to advance his career, like all of us would in our respective fields. He just went about it horribly and has paid for it this past year. He's had awful advice around him for a long time too.

I for one, think I've moved on.

Fans always take it too personal though...players don't really give a shit about fans. If they did, the "Big 3" wouldn't have rewarded the worst fan-base in the NBA with their play.

I don't know why I can't let this go...but comments such as
"He found the best opportunity to advance his career"
drive me insane. Winning championships riding the coattails of Wade is good for his career? 1 championship in Cleveland is worth the multiple rings he will win in Miami.

Re: LeBron in the heart of Cleveland tonight playing rec ball at the Word Church...

Playing with better talent than anything he had in Cleveland? Yeah, that's moving from a good situation to a great one.

Perhaps he needs Wade to lead him and realized he couldn't do it himself in Cleveland. He might not be what we expected him to be and he very may well have realized that himself.

I've always felt that was true. Of course, he has a lot less reason to hate Cavs fans...

He might hate Gilbert, though.

Even worse, what happens if he never wins a ring there? What if there are more "dies down in the moment" events? He could very well completely destroy his legacy as a result of this move. He is certainly taking a hit to his yearly numbers by this choice. And, it is not as if he went there as a result of a higher offer to increase his earnings.

Besides, that also ignores the whole way he left in such an unprofessional manner. He threw his team and the city under a bus with his self indulging tv special that he has never apologized for. He's nice in some pickup game and suddenly he's off the hook? Not from where I sit. In the public venue, he has done nothing to fix the damage he caused with his callous exit strategy.

Advance his career by becoming the most hated athlete? Advance his career by surrounding himself with a player that needs the ball (just like him) to do anything effective and Soft Bosh. Until he wins a title, he didn't advance anything.

I for one, think I've moved on.
