Consistency is what we need to see. Games like yesterdays are promising.

Kind of quiet in this section of the forum, sort of like Cedis game.

Concerning that he's 23 already - it's his second year in the league and he got a decent amount of minutes as a rookie last year.
Should be seeing big improvements in terms of production by him considering age and his second year in the league now.

If your expectation are just roleplayer then this is ok but not if your hoping to be a starter for this team once the tank hopefully ends

Shouldn't be expecting big changes to his game. His consistancy with dribbling needs to get better.

With the lack of consistent meaningful minutes he got last season, this is basically his rookie year. Really the bulk of his minutes last year were garbage minutes. Just look at Joe Harris and Danny Green, both those guys basically didn't develop at all during their Cavs years because they basically got no real meaningful minutes.

Zizic is also on track for another useless year in terms of development because he only gets random meaningful minutes.

Joe Harris would be such a great future piece for this franchise; so fucking stupid to practically give him away.

Yeah it was over him breaking his leg and a roster spot for what ended up being Jordan McRae. Ive always wonder why teams haven't pushed for an injured reserved spot like the NFL has. No reason a team should have to give away or waive a player over an injury.

Are you watching or just looking at the scores? He looks a lot better right now and is really attacking the rim. I see a high IQ guy that could do some damage by getting incrementally better.

I don’t think the problem is the “Cedi” himself...

He improved a lot; Attacking the rim, fewer turnovers, better free throws, better decisions, better shooting percentage, so what`s the problem then?

The problem is the team! For example last night, he scored 11p in the first half, which is pretty good, right? But although he had decent minutes in the second half, he scored only 2p.
But why? Did he miss his shots, or didn't he get a chance? , or intentionally didn’t try ? ... Let`s watch;

He had 33 min,5/12 shooting, having 13p, 1 rbd, 5 asst, 3 steals,3 turnovers.

He only had 3 shots in the second half...

I believe he is trying to do what the coaches are saying. Still, he has to take more responsibility, you can`t let Clarkson get 20 shots every game...

Incremental is the word for this. His finishing in halfcourt is not consistent whether driving or shooting. He also gets caught with nowhere to go.

He doesn't take too many dumb shots and he's always done well on the break where he can use momentum to keep defenders off of him but in the half court a lot of his shots are not easy. He doesn't look like he's got the strength or the hops to fully use his 6'8" frame. I see a lot of confirmation bias with Cedi when he hits a shot or scores but if you look at his film in total he still has a lot of trouble with what I mentioned along with his handle leading to TO's.

Let's throw a marker out there: what are you projecting him out to be in the next couple of years?

I actually like Cedi but my expectations have tempered greatly with him. I thought he had the potential to be a starter on a playoff team but now I see roleplayer
The rest of the team outside of Nance I hate with the passion and that pretty much includes the FO

If he can get a lot stronger? He can be very hard to stop in the lane. His and 1 opportunities have already jumped. If he can make his 3 pt shot more consistent, he will get to the rim whenever he wants to. A team with *any* shooters will also help that.

Making quick decisions and getting used to the speed of the game(which I think is most of recent improvement) is going to be big. He can already do a lot that just needs to be adjusted to the NBA game. We have also seen him play very well with star players like LeBron and love. He attacks in space, so if someone would have some gravity he can take advantage.

One of his major abilities that isn't showing up now because the team is such a mess on defense is his ability to recover. He can closeout on a 3 pt shooter very quickly after playing help in the middle. It's impressive. Giving up so many points takes him out of his transition game which is his strongest attribute.

Really just small improvements in

Ball handling
Shooting
And faster decisions would make him a legit starter.

High level versatile 2 way roleplayer. 3rd or 4th best guy on the team. The only thing I think that limits him is that he is not just a natural scorer . He prob will never average more than 20 pts. 15 5 and 5 is very realistic in 2 years if we get a real coach. That is a really good player IMO

Just watch when Love comes back. He is going to find Cedi when he is wide open. Most guys on the team aren't seeing him right now .
