Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Do you take it straight up or do you mix it with anything?

No, I learned the hard way -- it is absolutely awful!

I will usually mix it in a water bottle with cinnamon, True Lemon mix and sometimes i'll add a little cayenne pepper as well.

There are all kinds of recipes on the interwebs. Believe it or not, the simple mix i make is incredibly refreshing. I also do IF, so I am always consuming it on an empty stomach in the morning and it never upsets my stomach. I have been doing it for years.

You would think something as acidic as apple cider vinegar would make acid reflux worse. You know what works for acid reflux? Medically approved to treat heartburn ranitidine

One would believe so, however, the apple cider vinegar helps balance the pH in your stomach to neutralize the acid. The most common thought is, apple cider vinegar is acid, but when it is consumed it becomes alkaline.

I don't know. It seems like modern snake oil to me. It doesn't help that the hippiest homeopathic remedy people at my work use it.

I have to respectfully say, as a chemist, that this seems impossible. I'm now off to 'earth myself' to ensure I have surplus electrons and turn the blue light off my phone so I don't get mouth ulcers. ;)
For my silent reflux I take omprezole 20mg and good old gavisgon. I am hoping to come off it on 2 weeks time as I've had a bit of a breakthrough with my stress levels and anxiety

I listened to a podcast on it and it didn't sound up my alley from what little I heard.

What little I gathered was essentially that you're ignoring and/or bottling up your emotions?

It can seem that way but in its most basic form it relies heavily on the brutal fact that there are many things in life you can't control but you can always control the way you view them and respond to them. It also importantly recognises that happiness is not always going to be possible all the time and that's just the way life is. This I think is key in an increasingly instagram style society that only projects other people's highlights. I've found this useful with my teenage students

It's really helped me recognise that my anxieties were coming from trying to meet my perception of other peoples expectations which weren't always true.

It really sits well with my general personal philosophy and it's helped keep my over inflated ego in check. It's also helped me coped with the inate unpredictability of married life. It's by no means a effect system and people who preach it can seem a bit off and dry but I find it a great foundation to go back to when I end up worrying about a 5'9 Americans hip or a deadline at work

The best book I've read on it is called 'happy' by a magician known as Darren brown as it brings in broader themes and is funny.

When I read that it's a miracle elixer that helps with everything from diabetes to bad skin, red flags immediately go up.

Apparently you can have it with some food and they believe it has some effect on peaking blood sugar. There's food out there that has a similar effect. Bitter melon for instance; it tastes worse than dirty butthole though.

Also apparently it increases potassium in your blood. Insulin also has a little bit of that effect; so it's not an ideal partnership.

I'm not going to be replacing my insulin injections with bitter melon or apple cider vinegar anytime soon.

There is some strange effects on blood sugar it's a really complex thing. The most recent one I read was lack of sleep increases blood sugar to no matter what diet the person eats. They think it might be a general risk factor for type 2 now.

You're telling me. Sometimes I wake up with blood sugar in the 150 range. Sometimes, like last night I wake up at 2-4 in the morning with sub 70 blood sugar, sweating perfusely with a pulse at like 120. My guess is sometimes I don't have enough to eat for dinner which makes it drop in the night. If I have sex before bed I need a snack most definitely.

So yeah, dealing with my diabetes does cause anxiety when I was always prone to it before. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, so actually getting a chronic disease that takes a lot of patience and knowledge to manage wasn't exactly a good thing for my anxiety.

Think i'm developing diabetes or something. I used to have ablood sugar level around the 80 range and in recent blood works it keeps raising up each time and now it's at 100.
every time I eat something sweet I feel weak and tired.. and the fact that I don't sleep at all is just a huge risk factor right now.

Also, why am I back to Sixth Man? where is my Gold Star Member? It's one thing that I don't really like that green color, but to demote me like that?

Green is a promotion.

I was a star, but now i'm a sixth man.. i'm being sarcastic

I wanna die so badly today, it's fucking crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.. the lack of sleep is just killing me.
I just feel like i'ts going to happen eventually.. don''t know when, don't know how, but the lack of purpose, well being and lack of gratification is starting to really kill me from within.

This season need to start soon and even then i'm not sure it's going to make it interesting enough for me to continue.

My fasting blood sugar was 290 when I was diagnosed. You have a ways to go yet. Your blood sugar is impacted by a lot of things. Who knows, you might have got stressed to where your liver released glucose into your bloodstream.

Probably tons of stress. My Cortisol is through the roof.. I know it's breaking down my muscles and the lack of sleep and pain is probably the culprit.
My father has type 1 diabetes diagnosed at age 40, uncle and grandfather diagnosed late aswell with type 1. Weird.

I really don't need another chronic illness and I feel like if I don't start to somehow exercise and lower my stress levels then it's inevitable.

You can't get type 1 from any of those things. It's random pretty much and genetics plays a role. I'm the only person in my family with it though.

Your dad got it at 40 aye. I thought I was old getting it at 30.

Once your blood sugar creeps up into like 115 territory then you can begin to really watch out. I try to aim for 120 or below for mornings.

I actually feel shitty even at like 80. In the 70s I'm really hungry. Below 70 and it's fucking awful. You have the hunger of a lion and you sweat perfusely and shake with a rapid pulse.

Diabetes isn't the end of the world by the way. Everything out there makes it seemed like you're completely fucked if you get it and they do a terrible job educating people on the differences between the two. If you monitor yourself and be careful about your meals you will be fine. Learn your body and how exercise impacts it, always carry snacks.
