The mystery deal discussed lol (take your wild guesses)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think you guys saying Brad Miller are dillusional (I still have love for you Lee, just not feeling B-Easy for this team)

I dont want Brad Miller enough, to where I'd even consider taking on Kenny Thomas' contract. I dont even know if I'd do a Ben Wallace for Brad Miller trade and they expire at the same time.

I do like Salmons, and I would dedicate a room in my house to Danny Ferry if we could get Salmons and Hawes, then I'd be willing to take one of their bad contracts, but anything less is not worth it if you ask me

No love loss here, I dont want Brad Miller on our team. He breaks down to much and is old (for a b-ball player) Just because I am friends with him doesnt mean i want him in wine and gold. Example, you are my boy Rchfld, but I dont want to see you on the end of the bench in your rick james wig. It would be a waste of a roster spot (no offense, lol)

Also, I havent seen him in years (maybe 5 or so)....so I wouldnt be getting free tickets like i did in college....no signed cavs jersey, etc....no benifit to me.

Barbosa and Diaw

I don't think we'd give up AV and a first for these two. Diaw is a bad fit at PF, and Barbosa is a bad fit at SG. Imagine if we said, ok, we're set in the backcourt for the next three years with nobody taller than 6'3"... I think Mike Brown would have a heart attack.

The way W&G talked about it, it seemed like we would be getting two very good players in return. SG's that would make sense include Wallace, Richardson, Carter, Crawford, Redd, Johnson, Butler, Miller, and Salmons.

Now, to think how AV, Wally, and a 1st could be attractive for any of these teams...

We know Charlotte highly values AV, so you can count J-Rich and Crash in. New Jersey, even though it might make sense, is baking on LeBron in 2010, so I don't think they're going to improve our team. Count Carter out. The Knicks would gladly get value for Crawford, so keep him as a possibility. Michael Redd could want out, so he's possible. There's no way Atlanta is thinking about trading away their franchise player this early in the year, so count JJ out. Caron Butler would be PERFECT here, and Washington is considering blowing up their team, so count him in. Mike Miller could be a possibility IF Minnesota feels AV is the center they want starting next to big Al, but... I just don't see it, and I don't see them moving MM so soon. Count him out. And, I guess Salmons is still a possibility- it's just that Petrie is so hard to get a read on.

So, we've narrowed the possible SG's down to J-Rich/Crash, Redd, Butler, Crawford, and Salmons.

Now, before we start considering three-ways, the possible bigs to pair up with these guys are:

Okafor with J-Rich or Crash
Villanueva with Redd
Jamison with Butler
Lee with Crawford
Miller with Salmons

Lee + Crawford doesn't match up salary wise, and we wouldn't give up AV and a first if we're taking on a bad contract, so count that out.

Brad Miller and John Salmons aren't worth AV and a first from our point of view, so count that out.

So, with no three-ways, we can narrow it down to Okafor + J-Rich/Crash, Villanueva + Redd, or Jamison + Butler.

In my wet dreams, it'd be Jamison + Butler. If Jamison's new deal is really viewed as being THAT terrible (which I think it is), Washington might be willing to move Butler to get rid of him. However, do you really think Washington would consider blowing their team up already before giving them one last chance this year? I don't.

So, We've got it down to either Okafor + J-Rich/Crash or Redd + Villanueva.

Personally, I'd be fine with either one of these deals, and if you can think of any that I may have missed, feel free to throw it out there.

I thanked you because I sensed sarcasm with that trade.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...5~568~1026&teams=30~27~30~30~5~27~5&te=&cash=

JJ and Mo = AV and Pavs (AV can't be traded to Charlotte)

Gerald Wallace = Emeka Okafor

Jamison can be switched with Butler, but the Wiz need to trade an additional $400.

These three team trades are way to difficult for me I think I should have stopped. Draft picks are sent to both teams with Charlotte getting our first and the Wiz getting our 2nd.

It isn't exactly a bad trade IMO but it isn't likely to work as I feel the Wiz got a raw deal in it.

:chuckles: I love the sarcasm

Washington gets raped something terrible...

I'm still going with the Okafor/Wallace trade...

If its an Okafor, Wallace trade then I dont care how good Varejao is playing, they gotta do that.

2 young potential all-stars that put defense first...for Wally, Varejao and a pick...damn

I dont get why Charlotte would do that trade, but I guarantee that would make us the best team in the NBA.

Id love to see okafor and g-force in a cavs uni. Its makes a lot of sense too

Our front court is not very deep and we need someone young that defends and scores. Okafor and he also just signed a new contract.

We need to have a good defender at the SG postion one that can keep up with bigger guirads. G-Force.

Also Mike Brown loves big guards.

I used to not want G-Force becuase if he ever went down then we would have boobie starting and I didnt like that but now we have west that can start.

One last thing G-Force isnt a great jump shooter so ithat compliants Mo's game. Member how Redd and him worked out not so well put him next to a great defender and not a great jump shooter, perfect.

But unfortunly I dont think this will happen...Its a long shot

If we had to trade AV trade him when his stock his high. Hes playing great right now and i hate to see him leave but if its for better young players then pull the trigger. We'll see what happens after December 5th

Many people are repeating the trades that I listed. :chuckles: I still say Sacramento, Golden State, and Charlotte (and perhaps Milwaukee if they'd do Redd/Villanueva instead of Redd/Gadzuric) are most likely rumors if we're talking just 2-team trades. If the rumors are of 3-team trades, obviously it's just about anyone's guess.

And to anyone who asks, "Why trade AV?", it's only because W&G said things have been discussed and it's fun to try to get an idea of what has been discussed, or at least to the best of our little abilities. I personally do NOT want AV gone because he's been absolutely fantastic off the bench this year, and is a staple during crunch time in the 2nd half. However, it's nice to know that AV + a big fat expiring could bring us back very nice PF/C + SG in the same trade. I'm at least open to hearing what those possibilities may be.

And in the end, this is the trade forum, where most reality and logic is thrown out the window. So no worries, AV fans (me included), we're just having fun.

Well if it is for Okafor then it has to be Dec. 15 I believe. That would be a dream come true.

He's a good but not game changing player who makes the money of a star. That's not a good equation for fiscal responsibility.

He's everything the Cavs want from Ben Wallace, plus a better touch around the basket and the ability to finish strong. If there's even the slightest chance of getting Okafor you do it, he's good for 15, 12 and 2bpg, he can play the C or PF, and would excel next to Z and with LeBron feeding him. The Cavs are defense first right? Okafor is a fantastic interior defender. It's wishful thinking, since I have trouble believing they'd trade him, but he would be a steal, 26 year old 6"10 double double defensive PF's dont grow on trees.

I'd trade Anderson in a heartbeat for Okafor, I wouldnt even think twice.

I think Wally + 1st + Cash for Mikki Moore and John Salmons makes alot of sense for both teams.

why for cavs: no brainer, get starting SG whos a perfect fit and a backup PF/C we will need becuase of big z and wallaces age.

why for sac: there in the '10 sweepstakes and salmons contract runs threw '10. it also allows more playing time for the youngins.

final roster:

Mo will/ Delonte
Salmons/ Boobie/ Kinsey
Bron/Pavs/Jawad
Big Ben/ Moore/ Hickson
Big Z/ AV/ Jackson.

If we could pull off a deal that had Okafor and/or Wallace without AV, I'd be in heaven. Otherwise, we have to push hard for AV when he's a free agent because I'd hate to see him in any jersey but the Cavs.

Seriously, Anderson Varejao is the most annoying player on the planet, I don't want to see him drawing charges out of LeBron.

Me neither, and especially since we get Wallace back in that deal. It's a robbery and it would all but guarantee us a championship. Plus we would most likely finish with a franchise record in wins.

Now Cavs fans are overrating what Varejao can do for us. If we can't resign him any way what is the big deal? AV brings the intangibles, but Okafor brings equal or possibly better D and better offense. So what do we lose? Wally? AV Who we might not be able resign after this year, then we just passed on an awesome opportunity to improver our roster.

Plus next year we still may be able to resign him if he chooses us for a little discount (doubtful he way over values himself).

1. I didn't say I wouldn't do the deal, I just said if it's possible I'd love to keep Andy AND improve the team.

2. We are not overrating him. He saved the game against Indy, and his energy off the bench is a staple on this team. Plus, he can defend and annoy any big man, which is always a plus. Nobody said Andy was the greatest ever, but he's a solid rebounder, brings great energy, always hustles, and overall is a great fit on our team.
