chris grant and david griffin deserve all the credit in the world. chris 1st, then grant.

these 2 GMs are REAL GMs. pat riley had about 3 years to clear cap space and collect assets / tank for his super team.. but failed to collect assets and just dumped salary.

chris grant actually had a REAL plan and executed it. a plan that wouldnt just handi-cap them to 3 players. but a plan that enabled the team to have actual depth while still retaining assets and picks.

riley is a joke of a GM. forget him and his hair grease. hes a product of hype. those players just decided to use his market as the meeting place so they just kind of fell in his lap, then the media crowns him some type of godfather, then the fans follow suit. if anybody did the recruiting of the big 3 in miami, it was DWade.


but chris / dan / david get NO credit, it seems. its just been the lebron decision / lebron is the GM.

Lakers fans only get upset when something happens that doesn't benefit them. Remind them that they won a championship (or two) because of shady officiating and lets see how much they're crying about fairness then.

I kind of feel like this forum is the only place I'll be visiting online for quite a significant period of time. The butthurtedness is hilarious but I know I'll get sick of it, and would much rather be on here celebrating and cheering on our team to the Playoffs!

I may agree with a lot of that but to play devil's advocate, how many rings does Riley have? And then how many do Grant and Griffin have? Riley is not a joke of a GM, he put the big three together and they went to finals four straight times, winning two. I hate the guy but be real.

im being real.

he didnt put those 3 together. those 3 chose to come together on their own. and the place to meet was a no brainer. miami. south beach.

riley has rings as a coach, yea he did that. but as a GM, the guy is grossly overrated.

regardless if griffin / grant / dan dont have rings.. THEY PUT THIS THING TOGETHER. and the RIGHT way at that. they built this thing from the ground up. they didnt have no corners to cut. there was no short cuts. only thing they had was a plan and they did it.

riley? a heads up to make space because 2 stars were coming to town. but he failed to formulate a plan to actually have a TEAM surrounding those 3 players. amateur GM shit.
 
Riley did fuck up the supporting cast stuff, and picks, and he should have convinced Arison to pay Miller and possibly Jones
