The Timberwolves fan thread.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When Towns joins them, they'll have a solid 2 player core of 2 way players with All-NBA ceilings, which is always fun to watch.

It'll be up to management, to see how far they can go with those two.

They need a shrewd young coach who can teach them defense.

Also Bennett has been a bad contract since he's rookie year, not suprising that his on the block.

Fuck the Wolves and over-rated wiggins.
Just sayin, Go Cavs!!!
Why do fans need to have this mindset, that you have to hate the Wolves and call Wiggins overrated just because we traded him to them? Wiggins can be good and the trade for Love can still make sense..

I like the Wolves. Lived in Minnesota for years. Like all their teams. Good fans.

Nice draft for them for sure. I can't wait to see how this team shapes up with Wiggins and Towns. Garnett being there is huge for Towns.

Based on the time of this post and how bizarre it is I'm just going to assume you were hammered.

Should have ratted this winner because you were right.

cav fans - "next year"

wolves fans - "maybe in 6 years?"

We know this feeling all to well. While Zen was right I was smashed when I made this. It is what I was feeling and to see good kids and a lost franchise have hope. well yeah I always root for the underdogs.

Cavs have the best player in the world. But I get what you mean though, if you don't have LeBron, Wiggins/Towns combo is a pretty exciting duo to have as your franchise cornerstones.

Thank you Snarly. There is a lot of excitement in MN for a team that only had 16 wins last year. We believe if healthy the Wolves can really make a push for the 8th seed next season. It's all contingent on how fast Wiggins can become an All-Star. Thankfully we finally won the lottery and got the much needed defensive anchor in Towns. In the short time span after Love left the rebuild could not have gone any smoother and it all came full circle when KG returned. That was truly an emotional for both the fans and team, as you may know we have not made the playoffs since he left. Now with KG back to mentor the young pups I think we may surprise teams in the Western conference and knock on the door to the playoffs.

Jumping the gun with talking about a playoff push as early as next season but yeah you guys have every reason to be optimistic. Next to the Magic, I think you guys have the best young, developing core in the league.

A lot to be excited about in Minnesota. Will be fun to see how all your young guys turn out.

Thanks Cashius, I know the chances are slim and i'm not a homer but I won't underestimate the talent along with the effect KG has on the locker room. KG won't tolerate these guys if they put a half-ass effort on the court. Zach LaVine even noted the atmosphere changed when he came back.

Our team's OTRG and DTRG is so much better with Rubio on the court and we got a second ball handler in Tyus Jones. Our roster is talented enough to shake up the WCF, Dieng was a productive player until he was forced to play heavy minutes. Zach is very confident and started to flash near the end of the season when he played at his natural 'SG' position. Kevin Martin is a great floor spacer, Shabazz is tenacious on the O-Boards. If Pek can play at least 15-20 mpg this season that would be awesome and Towns would be able to play the 4 or 5 next to KG/Dieng/Pek. Hell, were even bringing in the Euroleague MVP Bejelica to help bolster our bench.

When Love was here no one really stepped up and claimed a leadership role. Now Ricky is starting to embrace that role and KG is KG. Expectations are starting to shift from the players to the coaching staff, playoffs is the goal and it's not fluff this time. Fans are starting to get excited about Wolves basketball again and as soon as they start winning the seats will fill themselves.

David Kahn needs a statue in Minneapolis. Yes it took Lebron leaving Cleveland and coming back plus cavs getting another number 1 pick. But without Kahn mind bogglingly offering Love a 4 year instead of a 3 year contract than Love gets traded a year later. Means no Wiggins and they don't get a frame at deal. That Love contract allowed them to get Towns/Wiggins not possible without idiot moves by Kahn

That's a bad man
Scary to think down the road Wiggins would be Robin not batman in Minny.

Lucky lucky 2 years

The best thing minny has going for them is KG. He is key to teaching Town and wiggins how to win and play with an edge

Pretty cool of KG to go back there and teach the young guns instead of ring chasing before retiring. Not many others have done that.

He never won a championship in Minnesota, but this is pretty cool IMO.
