There is no amnesty deal. What are you talking about? Are you talking about your own personal legislation?

They gassed some people that came to legally apply for asylum

Everyone of my posts has had the word compromise in it.. and how Congress is failing because of the lack of compromise.

Do you read the words I type?

That is a pretty far stretch since the court picture really isn't anything new in over a year. What fits the timeline perfectly: Republicans don't really give a crap about the wall when they actually have to ability to do something about this "emergency", Trump is about to fold, Ann Coulter and her ilk tweet, and bingo shutdown.

If someone proposed a comprehensive immigration reform package I think we might see more traction.

The closest we saw was the DACA compromise in 2017, and the bill earlier in 2018, that were Bi-Partisan, with the House and Senate in agreement, that Trump killed.

I am afraid it is likely that a comprehensive bill will not get done while Trump is in office. Frankly he is a non-rational actor who can't be trusted to not veto his own party's bills.

i understand trumps limitations in terms of solving the problem, but it is also true that the dems have no desire to resolve the immigration issue before 2020...

How would you propose they do this beyond a claim of asylum that the government currently will not hear?

Part of me thinks Trump’s strategy is to wait until the government shutdown becomes catastrophic, declares a state of emergency, and funds his own wall, thus ending the shutdown.

Trump then portrays himself as a hero and whatever happens in the courts is irrelevant. If they find his actions legal then he can brag. If they say the wall funding is unconstitutional then Trump finds another enemy to rally against.

What a statement by the President of the United States.

Because there is a prayer blanket left near the southern border (a dubious claim to begin with) that means it was left by a Muslim and all Muslims are terrorists. That is a truly remarkable statement. That's not hiding anything, that's a racist, bigoted, xenophobic remark coming from the leader of the free world. Astounding.

This was also part of the plot of the second Sicario movie.

Which, and if it were anyone else I’d probably hesitate, is likely a part of the recall here.

God forbid they see an actual Muslim immigrant in the flesh. They'd probably have a heart attack.
