The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The new episode of Wolf Among Us was pretty great. Can't wait for the finale in two months.

This was the first Telltale game I've ever played where literally every one of my choices (except one, which was 50% even) was in the minority compared to other players. Granted, I doubt a lot of people had finished the game as of last night, but it was still weird.

Oh yeah, and what little I got to play of Watch Dogs last night was really fun too. I did a mission where I had to infiltrate and hack a cTos station that was heavily guarded. I took out all but three of the guards just by jumping from camera to camera and setting off environmental traps or detonating explosives that some of the guards had on them, then easily swooped in and picked off the last three without being spotted. Just a really fun experience.

The downside, of course, is that I've read a lot of the missions tend to devolve into GTA-style shoot-em-ups, which is disappointing. I'd much prefer a game that focused on stealth and using technology to beat enemies than another generic GTA experience, but it is what it is. Maybe Ubi will learn their lesson in the inevitable prequel, since the rampant shooting segments seem to be the major source of complaint that I've read in various reviews.

Yeah I did this mission yesterday too. Using the cameras us an amazing way to do stuff, and is the best part about the game to me. Such a fresh take compared to gta.

Yeah it is officially called BF: Hardline. Ea announced it yesterday. Seems like an interesting take on a BF game, and they have some sort of heist mode, apparently.

That episode of Wolf Among Us just gave me blue balls.

Jebus there is so much to do in Watch Dogs. I am only on act 2 of 5. I've put likely 20 hours in so far.

This franchise has a ton of potential. Between this, Infamous, and AC my open world itch has been scratched for a good couple weeks.

I hope they can churn these out like AC games. I've never understand why people don't like annualized games. If it is something I like then hell yeah I'd want a new one every 3 months if they could do it.

I just finished a mission, and I didn't fire my gun at one person. The hacking is such an awesome feature, and hopefully they push it beyond cameras and doors in the next game.

Watch Dogs is easily the best game I've played in quite some time. Story has me completely hooked. Just finished Act 3 and I'm on to Act 4. The character's just pull you in, every single one is so awesome.

Everyone is posting all over the internet about how the PC version of Watch Dogs is jacked up and has severe performance issues. It runs flawlessly on my system, though. Guess I got lucky. :chuckles:

I'm super skeptical of Watch Dogs. I'd preordered the PS4 bundle originally and maybe built up resentment on account of the delay. Graphics look uninspired, AI looks idiotic, and one-button hack-a-thon sounds boring and repetitive. Y'all are experiencing otherwise?

It's not exactly a one button hack a thon. Yes you do just use one button, but any where there is a camera you can rehack into it, and kill enemies. Seriously you can make it through missions without firing a bullet.

You can fuck with the doors, blow stuff up, and hack comms to distract people for a take down.

The hacking actually serves to create puzzles, both in and out of combat. You may only use one button to hack, but you have to find the right ways to do it. Do you want to set off a guard's explosives, killing him but alerting all the enemies in the area? Or would you rather distract an enemy and go for a silent takedown?

The game plays a lot like Grand Theft Auto (and the gameplay is surprisingly polished, by the way), but the hacking adds an extra layer of depth to the experience.

Watch Dogs is definitely next on my list after I finish Infamous: Second Son. All of my gaming time lately has been dedicated to MLB 14: The Show though, so it may be a while for me.

So watch dogs is basically person of interest the video game, right?

Finally got through watchdogs. What an awesome game. The story leaves some to be desired, but well worth the 70 bucks. I easily got 70 hours out of it.

What are everybody's thoughts on watch dogs? I just couldn't get into the story or the game play

Really? I thought it was the best story so far on next gen. Pulled me in super fast, the online modes are meh to me.

was gonna get into WAtch Dogs but the reviews i read gave it a big "meh" but you guys are saying otherwise here..hmm

gonna give Rocksmith 2014 a go. Wanted to play guitar forever but always quit cuz learning the basics is boring..hopefully RS fixes that

I just don't have the time that I used to to play games. Between social obligations, two dogs, a girlfriend, my ever-expanding DVR queue, and whatever book I'm reading, a game has to be very compelling for me to stick with it.

Get a wife. You'll find that games you thought sucked are actually awesome.

:chuckles:
