The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Playing Dark Souls 2. Yes, I love punishment. Died about 20 times in a row in the damn abyss. You get angry that you died, get careless going back in, and die again. And I'm out of effigies, so I can't go back until I find more.

Btw, the original Dark Souls itself is currently the free game if you've got Xbox Live Gold. It's not a game for everyone because of the difficulty, but still an awesome game.

Past week I did...

Monday - Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (XBOX ONE)
Tuesday - Titanfall (XBOX ONE)
Wednesday - Halo Spartan Assault (XBOX ONE) and Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
Thursday - Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
Friday - Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U)
Saturday - Battlefield 4 (PS4)
Sunday - Call Of Duty: Ghosts (PS4) and Titanfall (XBOX One)

Playing murdered soul suspect. Not too far in but so far I'd give it a meh. Trying to be like a telltale game but just not as engaging.

About to hop on my PS4 and play some Battlefield:Hardline beta

was gonna get into WAtch Dogs but the reviews i read gave it a big "meh" but you guys are saying otherwise here..hmm

Honestly, I think the reviews were a little unfair. The game is very, very polished and the gameplay is fun. It's not perfect and I've heard the story isn't that great (I am only in Act II so way too early to judge), but the gameplay is rock solid. Hacking is fun, and it livens up car chases in a way GTA doesn't. I love being able to complete a lot of the game stealthily, and more importantly stealth actually works when the game allows it. The ability to move from camera to camera, tagging enemies and examining the environment for potential ways to take out your enemies is fun. Moving from cover to cover works almost all the time, and I rarely found myself doing something other than what I intended the game to do.

I really don't know what else to tell you. As an open world game, Watch Dogs just works. It's fun, the world is interesting, the gameplay is polished, and there is a ton of shit to do (and most of it is pretty fun). You also get actual good to great rewards for completing sets of side missions or doing various things within the world, which gives you plenty of incentive to do them (something other open world games can forget).

I'll be perfectly honest and say I got kind of bored playing GTA V. I didn't even come close to finishing it because I lost interest. The story was interesting enough, but the world was almost too big with not enough to do to make the size of it worthwhile. As for Watch Dogs, I haven't had as much fun playing an open world game since Saints Row IV and Sleeping Dogs, both of which really sucked me in.

Gonna have to try it out on PC when i get my new monitor in, thanks Jack

Rocking out to the Public Alpha on Destiny

I've been rocking WatchDogs and Titanfall for a while now. NBA 2k14 is a solid part of my rotation as well. I love my XB1.
On the Wii U I play Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and Madden 13.
Nintendo 2DS has me playing Pokemon X on a second run through with Pokebank mons from previous gens.
I love video games.

Gonna pick up a game tonight for PS4 and trying to decide between Infamous Second Son and Watch Dogs. Leaning towards watch dogs because it seems to be bigger, have more replayability, and will last me a bit longer. Any thoughts for people who have played both?

Second Son was a lot of fun, but Watch Dogs is a better game in my opinion. There's just so much to do, and all of the gameplay is really polished. Personally, I like any game that makes stealth fun, and Watch Dogs does it really well. You can't always be stealthy (although I hope they add this option in the inevitable sequel), but part of the appeal for me is picking off enemies silently in route to my objective. The gunplay and cover system is fun too (better than GTA, I think), though, so even when you get caught in a firefight the game doesn't just fall apart or get frustrating.

I have a Destiny alpha code if anyone needs it. I can't play this weekend.

Thief is only $14.99 on Steam. I held off buying it at launch because of the mixed reviews. I'm all in at $14.99.

Didn't you say you enjoyed "Thief" Jack?

Took up Gears of War 2 again. Not bad. Surprised it's still this "active" online.
