The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have it lying around and its really fun. Just buried beneath newer games sadly.

Yeah, it was 12 bucks on Steam and I was in the mood for a new game since I just finished up Tomb Raider and that Witcher Tales is more of a game I want to play through solely rather than binge.

Just a heads up...

SOMA is free on GOG right now. Great survival horror game with a compelling story and an awesome ending. Definitely worth playing. It's kind of like a hybrid of BioShock and Dead Space minus the combat, as it's a pure survival horror experience where you are mostly helpless against the abominations roaming the corridors of an underwater research facility.

And, if somehow you haven't played it by now, Super Meat Boy is free on the Epic Games store.

Bought a ps4, put in Madden

Game won't copy past 388 mb.

I downloaded software update. Deleted data and tried again etc.

Wtf

Well Madden was fun for a day.

People still buying these sports games? It’s been the same exact thing every year since like 2013 people are basically paying 60$ for a roster update

If you want a good game on the PS4 try Red Dead Redemption 2

I just tried the first one and I wasn't into it. I don't like the country stuff and open world can be slow to develop.

Open to be sold on it though. I liked gta for a minute

It’s just so well made and feels extremely realistic, you actually feel like a bandit in the Wild West which is pretty cool, the story is awesome and you really connect to the characters.

If you don’t like the optional stuff like hunting, fishing, robbing or just exploring the world on your horse doing what the hell you want, you can just do the main story line because that on it’s own is very good.

The game is slow to develop though, for example you need to eat/drink once in a while and travel long distances on your horse if you want to explore or get to new places as there is no fast travel option right away but you can unlock it later, I personally don’t use fast travel because I love the riding and exploring part of the game too much.

Busted out most of the first island in one sit down. Few hours felt like 45 minutes so it mustve been fun.

Think it’s honestly got me more interested than Red Dead at the moment.
I just finished Red Dead Redemption 2. Just installed and about to start AC: Odyssey.

RDR2 Was really good, but my only issue with it was when you were forced to slowly walk in a lot of areas such as camp, indoors, etc....The slow walk ALWAYS caused me to lose immersion because it felt like walking in quicksand every time this happened....and it happened a lot more than I cared for.

Anyways, really looking forward to Odyssey for the next 50-60 hours of gaming. I loved AC: Origins.

This game takes the engine and mechanics of GTA 5 and pastes the Wild Wild West on top of it. While GTA is a fast and loose type of game, this is a more of a tight and realistic simulator.

It was pretty long with a story that could have had at least 25% of it cut out and still been the same game.

Overall, I'd give it a 8/10, at best.

Just dropping by to complain about the dumbest thing in RDR2 and maybe one of the dumbest things I've encountered in modern video games: the "hit 3 times and win at black jack" challenge.

The game has 10 categories of "challenges" (10 challenges each) that you need to complete to unlock the next challenge. Some categories are based on sharp shooting (kill 3 guys with knives in under 10 seconds), others focus on collecting specific types of herbs, etc... and they're all typically fun or challenging distractions. Most games have them. They're usually hit or miss, sometimes annoying or grindy. Whatever. This game has a challenge in the gambling bucket that requires you to win THREE hands of blackjack (a mini-game at a couple of saloons) after hitting at least THREE TIMES (!).

Anyone familiar with blackjack knows that you would never do this in real life, and it would be extremely rare to even have the opportunity to hit 3 times... You'll almost always bust after hitting twice, let alone more than that. The fact that the game makes you do this serves absolutely no skill or purpose. It's just absolutely awful design. And they make it worse by making blackjack the one mini-game diversion where you can't hit a button to skip watching the NPC turns. Not only is it mind-numbing and pointless, but it traps you at a table when you could be exploring the otherwise amazing and beautiful game.

Unfortunately, I'm a completist and want to finish this, so I was spamming x on my PS4 while doing other stuff on my laptop. I lucked out once with a starting hand of 2 and 2. Hit a 3 (I'm in business!). Hit a face card, so now I'm at 17. Luck out and hit a 3 (20!), only for the dealer to get blackjack. Yeah, not trying that again. Eff the stupid ass inconsiderate idiot nonsense ass designer who programmed that BS.

Yea, re: RDR2. I’m only on Chapter 3. It’s an incredible gaming achievement. And one of the best games of the year. Most fun though? Probably not.

Odyssey is boss, too.

I agree 100%.

RDR2 felt more like a chore in the first 50% of the game. It has over 100 story missions. After the first 10 hours of the game I looked at the progress and it was like 10% or something low like that. It felt like it would take an eternity to finish the game. So from that point on, I decided to just ignore everything besides the missions, or else it would take like 150hrs to complete a game that was not all that fun.

The first half of the game is pretty drawn out trying to flesh out EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY with all the tedious missions. That got annoying real quick. It is essentially Dutch dragging everyone around doing robbing missions and always stating that there is still not enough money for his "plan". I did not enjoy the game until we got on the "island" (spoiler).

Witcher 3 is still the only game that has actually compelled me to scrape the barrel for every last bit of content. I imagine I’ll just bull rush the main story in RDR2 as well with minimal side content.

At one point in Witcher I spent like 8 hours just hitting every ? On the map in Skellige. Made a huge dent but still didn’t get them all. 120 hours in that game. AC Odyssey looks like it has similar potential.

I somehow got damn near every question mark on the Novigrad map. Took for fucking ever.

I guess I'm quitting and going back to replaying mgs.

Is there any way I can get this done on one console? Downloading files etc?
