The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Finished RDR2. Main story anyway. Starting Epilogue now.

Holy. Fuck. Game started at a 1 or 2 speed and ended on about a 25. The sheer definition of a slow burn cinematic western masterpiece. Easily the best storytelling I’ve seen in a game.

If I was giving a presentation on video games as an art, this would be Exhibit A, B, and C.

Whew.

I only ever played the original MGS3 with the fixed camera angles. I did buy a collection at some point and played a bit of the updated version, but not enough to really remember it. I don't remember having too many issues. Just gotta remember that it's not really an action game.

I will end up getting it if they make it so you can have the x and y sensitivity be equal. In the previous 2 games the y sensitivity was half that of the x and you couldn't change it... That made the games unplayable for me.

Is Metro Exodus kinda the same as Fallout 4? Thats the feel I am getting while watching videos.

Which would not be bad in my opinion because I loved Fallout 4.

It's a similar setting in that they are both post nuclear war and there are mutated abominations running about. Main difference is that the Metro games are much more serious compared to Fallout. It's meant to be a more realistic take on the same scenario.

How would you compare the “RPG” mechanics? Or does Metro not have any like Fallout 4 does in the background?

I don't think Metro is really an RPG at all. I don't think you level up at all in the first two games, although maybe they changed that for the third game. It's pretty much a mix of stealth, FPS, and survival horror.

You do occasionally get the opportunity to talk to people and shop in safe zones, though.

Not sure anyone but me cares about the Mortal Kombat franchise, but they just revealed MK 11 game play, and it looks ridiculously good. Characters are also very customizable and the graphics look amazing.

Just finished MGS3. Awesome.

Did you try it? PW is next in the storyline after MGS3 so was thinking of playing it next.
I played for an hour or so and went to mgs2. Gonna come back to it

Finished RDR2 for good. Epilogue was very nice, I enjoyed it and the more uplifting tone, even if knowing how RDR ends puts a damper on it.

With that behemoth out of the way, my current actives on console are:

AC Odyssey
Dead Cells
Hollow Knight

Not sure I'll beat any of those, but Odyssey seems to have a firm grip on me. Cells is fun to put time in here and there, and Hollow Knight just hasn't really grabbed me although I'm only 2 hours in or so.

PC wise, I'm dabbling in Guild Wars 2 (doubt it'll stick), still playing Total War: Warhammer 2 (might be my favorite strategy game ever), and I'm trying out League of Legends (I prefer Heroes of the Storm so far, but, #deadgame) and Path of Exile. Just some cleanups, doubt any of these games besides Warhammer 2 will be ones I'm playing in a few weeks.

2019 looks to be loaded with games but I think I'm going to be very picky about what I buy. I'm finally getting caught up on my backlog, and would rather focus on just 1-2 titles at a time ideally.

Path of exile is a great action rpg. What I like most about it is you have a ton of freedom with how you want to build your character. Their league system is also very nice. I do wish their micro transactions were a bit cheaper. Your character looks like a lowly peasant if you aren't willing to shell out some cash. It's hard to complain with the game being free though.

I'm a fan of Diablo, figured I'd give it a try. It seems a tad overwhelming though I've barely touched it yet, just downloaded it.

You have to pay to look anywhere near decent? That's a bit of a turn off. Love loot based ARPGs though.
