The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm looking to get another game for my Xbox one. The only games I have now are madden and nba 2k15. I like open world games. I was thinking about batman but I haven't really played the last few. Also interested in a assassin's creed unity. I e wanted to get gta 5 but I already beat it for the 360. Thanks

Batman is good.

Also black flag assassins creed is free with gold this month. Obviously not the height of next gen but playable fun

About 55+ hours into the Witcher 3 right now, with a ton of game left. I play Dying Light with a friend. We are doing the story in Co Op so we only play when the other is on for we can stay on the same missions. I play these on the PS4, which i only owned for about 2 weeks. I also have an Xbox One... I got Bloodbourne and The Last of us free with my PS4 but have not jumped into those games yet. Dont like to jump into too many stories at once. I also play Advanced Warfare still even though im pretty over it, and i also play some Battlefield Hardline. Just got MLB 15 The Show in the mail today. Wanna get back into sports games, its literally been years since i played any kind of sports game. I also preordered Madden and i preordered Black Ops 3. The only action my Xbox One sees right now is when i jump on to play Smite...

I've never played an MMO, but I'm a pretty big Elder Scrolls fan. Is it worth it? Is it pay to play or how does it work? I just never pay much attention to MMO's
I've heard it's a decent MMORPG, but not a very good Elder Scrolls game. It wasn't developed by Bethesda.

Is Arkham Knight one of the best games of the year? Or am I just totally bias because I love Batman? The combat sequences, the intermittent appearances of The Joker, the fluidity from gameplay to cinematics, the storyline, the level of dynamic texture detail (rain drops dripping on the cape and cowl - wow!), the Batmobile's introduction, the new gadgets and abilities to interact with the surrounding environment etc. I could go on and on. Just a phenomenal piece of work, and one that has made me appreciate the concepts of gaming once again.

Hove not played it but from what I seen to a Batman fan I can be for sure but over they made to many odd choices with the game. For sure looks great though. Mine is between Bloodborne and the Witcher 3. Bloodborne only because I love FROM games and the Souls Series but the Witcher 3 Is what I wanted from Skyrim. I can not wait till Mario Maker comes out my life will be gone.

It's just buy the game and play it. There are dungeons you can't do solo (not exactly sure on this, but they are called group dungeons), you need help from others.

It's certainly got the ES feel to it. Very floaty combat, but there are very obvious differences between this game and Skyrim. The most obvious is the crafting system is much more in depth in eso. Like it's leagues more in depth, there's all the ratial styles, upgrades to higher level weapons, and you need to attribute skill points to the crafting.

The map is huge. I've only just hit the third area, and if I am not mistaken, it looks like there is 20+ on the map.

You can play the game like an ES game, as I have, and not really had a problem doing so so far. Although I did skip the group dungeon. There is just so much stuff to do, but I don't want to turn it into a job like my early Destiny days.

Edit: There is a lot of go here kill this quests. Go here get this. I hate that type of quest personally, but I have just been taking it slow. Like i said it's not a job for me. I know i'll get burnt out and drop it, and since I like it I don't want that. I might play 3 hours a day, steal some stuff to sell/craft, hit up a couple of missions.

Still plugging away at Witcher 3. Have easily put more time into sidequests and contracts than I have the main story. Hell, I even spent a bunch of time the other day just roaming around the map and going to unmarked areas that I hadn't been to yet.

Finished AC3. What a bad ending.

I'm really digging the game, but the lack of boss fights is notable. I mean, I know the series hasn't exactly been great at those in the past, but this game just ditches them altogether. I also think they use the Batmobile far more than they really need to to the point where it can get a little annoying. I definitely miss the cohesive indoor areas from the past few games, where you'd gradually progress and have to solve puzzles to keep advancing. This game only has two or three areas like that, and it's a little disappointing.

The story is a definite improvement on the first two games, though. That's probably mostly because the Joker is always around and talking to you, as his writing is top notch.

I know you posted this Sunday but I put a lot of time into ESO when it first came out and personally I'd advise against playing it. The first 50 levels weren't too bad as I just quested away assuming that the game would really open up and get more fun once I hit 50. However then came the veteran ranks (which they will eventually get rid of) and I realized that if I wanted to be relevant in endgame PvP or PvE at all, I was basically only 1/3 of the way done with questing.

I don't know about you but one of my favorite things in Elder Scrolls games is being able to do whatever the hell I want and still feel like I'm accomplishing something even if it's just working towards a personal goal. In this game I just couldn't do that. If I wasn't questing it felt like I was wasting time because quests are literally the only effective ways of getting xp without exploits. The quests are well written and wouldn't be that bad if I didn't feel like I had to do every single one of them.

I realize different forms of grinding are pretty much a standard in MMOs but I had higher expectation for ESO. What finally made me quit the game was when I tried to PvP at veteran rank 3, which took me weeks after hitting 50 to get to, and realizing that I was still nearly useless on the main PvP servers because of all the VR12s. I just didn't have the motivation to grind to VR12, which would have probably taken me a couple of months of consistent play, only to become a little bit more effective in the zerg based combat. There was absolutely no rewards to capturing enemy forts other then gaining stat boost for controlling more of the map. What would happen, as a result of allowing players to set one PvP server as their home and another as a guest server, is the zerg guilds would take over their home map and prevent anyone else from making any progress on it while also securing their stat boosts, and then they would do all their actual fighting on their guest server. So basically all the combat occurred on a 1 or 2 servers and their was no loyalty to your home server.

Essentially, I quit because the game had no immersion and nothing about it was fun. I can deal with level grinding if there is something worthwhile to work towards. ESO just doesn't have this and that's why it was such a disappointment in my eyes. The combat is good, the graphics are nice, and the main story isn't terrible but ultimately it's just another themepark mmo that could have been a whole lot more.

Turns out i'm really bad at gliding ive wasted about an hour trying to glide through riddlers revenge casino level. I do miss the amount of stalking and stealthiness that the original games had. Must have re played the mr freeze boss level 100 times trying to get him every possible way

Stick of Truth is fun, but way too easy.

tESO is great... i play it on my PC and love it

I've thought about picking it up. Is it a game that can be played on a controller with relative ease or is it better with mouse and keyboard? Most MMO's I've seen have too many abilities/spells/whatnot to really play well on a controller. I was leaning toward PC over PS4 to try it out for that reason, but I suppose I could use either/or on the PC so it kind of makes it the better choice regardless...
