We played pretty good in the 1st half but against good teams you cannot have lapses like that. Up 7 with 2 minutes left in the half and you give it away quickly. Matta should have felt the swing much quicker than he did as he waited way too long for a timeout. Idiot. We let up big time and tried to coast to half time. It doesn't work in games like this.

I know it's tough to take Diebler off the floor, but Sullinger can't do it all himself defensively. Might want to get Dallas in there with him. All of Illinois' offense is coming inside.

Refs have made me mad a couple of times, but that's expected.

This team will not be beat if they play like that. It wasn't their very best game either, but it was close. The defense towards the end was just amazing. The maturity the freshmen show is pathetically astounding.

I liked that Matta was truly playing coach in the last minutes. He subbed Thomas in on defense for Buford, and took him out for Buford on offense at the very end. I agree that Thomas is a nice player off the bench as he can sub for any of them except for Craft and Sullinger. I do think we need to find one more guy off the bench who can contribute when it's on the line. Seven deep isn't very deep. We were lucky today that no one got into serious foul trouble until the very end.

Just a great win. I believe we surprised a few national people today as it seemed many thought Illinois was going to win. Handle Purdue on Tuesday now.

Could you imagine standing at that line by yourself in the last minute and hearing the pounding of the floor that was going on and the screaming of the fans, etc? BTW: If Purdue loses to Michigan State tonight, OSU is two full games ahead in the big ten. I think MS beats them. Illinois is now almost totally out of the race as they are 3 games back. That's got to be damn depressing for them.
