Timofey Mozgov Mancrush thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ha, I take McGee over Sanders every time. McGee may be a goof on the court, but Sander is on and off the court. And last year he looked soft. McGee is so freaking long, he does things no one else can do. I'm always nervous when we play against him. He probably dunks more easily than any nba player. He really impacts a game by just being on the court. He's getting better at not being a complete bafoon haha. And with better players and a better coach around him, he'd be a big weapon.

McGee will never win a championship. There, I said it. He's the kind of player who keeps your team from winning one.

Griffin is too smart to bring a turd like that in here.

Great start to the preseason, I doubt we can just steal him from Denver.:conf (8):

You could see him developing into this type of player during the second half of the season. Aside from all the things you want from a big, he runs the floor well for a really big guy and can also really shoot the ball. During this preseason, his range was extending out to the three point line. I think in two years, he will be a legitimate threat from 3 point line. The Memphis pick is valuable, but unlikely to net a player better than a 2014-2015 Mosgov. Oh well.

We get to see him up close and personal tonight.

Denver has 3 centers, one of them should be available in January when they are out of the playoff picture.

you could argue they have 4 (Mozgov, Hickson, Nurkic, McGee). only Mozgov makes sense for us and he's their starter. they just drafted Nurkic and are very high on him (rightfully so). Hickson sucks on defense and we really can't acquire McGee without the Haywood contract. plus i gotta be honest, it's not like our center has to do a whole lot (just protect the paint) but McGee has such a low BB IQ that i'm not totally sure if i would trust him to deliver in a big playoff game.

Depending on what their strategy is, and what McGee does the rest of the season, you can easily envision Denver doing a a McGee-Haywood swap this off-season and not requiring the Cavs to add anything. Would save them $12M and free up that capspace.

You know, I still don't think I would do it. I mean, I guess I would consider it rather than not using the Haywood trade chip at all.

Anyway, this is something worth keeping in mind.

The biggest hurdle right now is the rudderless, moronic Denver franchise. Nurkic has shown he is ready, McGee and Hickson are on limited minutes but they are healthy. What are you waiting for, Denver? Why play out the Utah situation with Jefferson and Millsap all over again?

You know what really gets me hard in my dreams at night that might have led to nocturnal emissions?

Chris Kaman.

He's shooting 59% from the field off the bench and leading all bench players in points and rebounds for Portland.

I believe he signed a 2 year contract with them but they are competing this year so I don't know how feasible he actually is. He has shown signs of good health and production and he could be a key contributor off the bench with Dion and Tristan while giving us some size (in my pants).

It's only a matter of time. They have too many bigs. Nurkic just got pushed out of the rotation when Hickson came back, but once they fall out of the playoff picture by January, the front office will want to see him develop and will move somebody to make that happen.

The only question will be what will they get out of us in addition to the TPE. Is it just a first round pick? I really don't think they would want to Dion since he would just get in the way of Gary Harris' development.

Dion is an established scorer and 6th man. Harris is magic beans who can't can't crack the rotation yet. I think Denver is pushing for more than a 1st and its the Cavaliers who aren't budging yet.

That's definitely true. I guess I was just thinking that Dion might not be the greatest fit next to Ty Lawson, so they would rather just let Harris develop. But if you're in Denver's situation, they should probably just take the talent and figure out the fit later.

And I'm sure Denver is pushing for more or else we would have him already. The bloom just needs to come off the rose for them about Mozgov, and then they'll realize that even though he is on a nice deal, he's 28 and is the only one of their bigs that someone is willing to give a first round pick for.

Portland just scored 84 points against Denver in one half. if this trend continues Mozgov might be available for less than we anticipated :biggrinthumb:

edit: now they're starting Hickson for Mozgov in the 2nd half. i like it

Was just coming in to post that - DEN looks terrible this year, sooner rather than later they will have to start thinking about building for next year and Griff will be there waiting to pounce.

Mozgov could still be pricey because he is on a value contract, so they won't just give him away. Will probably require the MEM pick...

Aaron Afflalo could be another guy on DEN who would fit in nicely here that they don't have much use for.

We could always trade for J.J Hicks..... I can't do it.
