Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I gave it an A+. Rim protectors are so underrated among in basketball in general including among fans.

Dying breed as well. Can't think of 10 players that are similar to Moz. Mobile 7-footers that disrupt shots, invaluable at pick and roll, and rebounds well. Everyone's a 6'10" relying on their wingspan. Not necessarily a bad thing but you get the idea.

If he can develop some consistency offensively, he will be insanely valuable. The hard part right now is that we never know what we're gonna get when we pass him the ball on offense. He also has this habit of getting the ball stripped from him when he's holding it or the ref calls a jump ball. I'm not sure what he's doing but maybe it can be corrected. His defense alone makes him useful though.

If that happened I'm thinking he'd command a 13M a year contract. No way we can pay the guy.

If he would just jump and dunk around the hoop he'd be unstoppable. Always seems like he's playing smaller than he is under there and gets, like you said stripped, just flat out stuffed. Jumping ability doesn't seem to be a problem when he's going for blocks so I'm not sure what's going on there. He might be worried about killing someone but that's OK in the playoffs.

What happened to his midrange jumper? That was pretty much money in the regular season but I think he airballed or bricked every single one this series.

His 12 ft shot was part of the game plan when he first got here, and he was successful at it, but they went away from it. If he doesn't keep it game-oiled we can't count on it. He did hit at least one lastnight though.

Was going over some stats and found out that this season with the Cavs (46 games), Moz averaged the best PPG, SPG, BPG, APG, FT%, FG% in his NBA career, and second best RPG.

I read a few pundits claiming the Cavaliers should go small against Atlanta. Well, maybe at times that can be helpful. Antic and Muscala spend so much time offensively on the perimeter that you can get away with TT and Jones in when they are in. However, I think Mozgov has the mobility and strength to harass Horford and take him out of his game. I really like Horford's game and I have since he was at Florida. Watching the Hawks in the playoffs a few nights ago, my wife reminded me that I was technically a Horford fan before he was drafted. I wish she had a worse memory sometimes... but I do think Moz should be in whenever Horford is in.

Who else thinks mozgov has the potential to turn into then into one of the most dominant and best centers in the game? His physical frame and wingspan is ridiculous. His athleticism is freakish. The way he's able to snag lobs and finish with either hand is impressive. His left hand is impressive and his jumshot looks solid.

Saying all that, I still see a guy that looks really raw... Continued later when I can charge my phone. I have to get off data to conserve battery life
