So you guys honestly want to watch that type of basketball for the next five years? Throw away five years of Kyrie's career? I'll pass on that one. My bet is Dan Gilbert will too.

If this year we're in the 5-8 pick range heading into the lottery, and the following year we're in the 12-14 range heading in the lottery, I wouldn't consider that a failure as long as the young guys looked to be progressing. At that point it would be time to re-sign KI and TT and unless we make a big move before then we should have enough to sign a marquee free agent heading into that offseason. At that point we would have KI, TT, TZ, DW, multiple 2013 first rounders, possibly multiple 2014 first rounders, and hopefully an all-star level FA. That's kind of the best plan we have right now unless Grant can pull of a deal to get someone here. So while I don't want to have a legitimate chance to get the #1 pick in 2014, being in the lottery wouldn't mean our team wasn't going places.

I'd be happy with an elite big this draft, since at the moment there appear to be 4-5 that are bound for the top 10. We really need a strong, athletic defender down low because Kyrie and Dion aren't quite up to snuff on that side of the ball and when Andy is gone, any semblance of good P&R defense we have is gone with him. I haven't seen Gobert or Austin play, but I think a center in the mold of Noel would work better for this team than one like Zeller.

I can almost agree... sure the center could help big time. Even if we lose Andy we get a first round Pick. The question Is do you Draft C or SF first pick or Second. I would have to Agree go big If nothing Is there good at the wing. However At the same time We have nothing at all at the SF position however, The SF Is easier to trade for than big men. So pick your poison at this point.

Yeah, this.

A lot of people were noting that "it's only 1 game, and their first loss" "it's only game 2" etc. But I'd say most people who want to "tank" aren't making that decision based on what happened against Chicago; they are making it because they realize how this team has such little talent, especially young talent.

I agree with those saying we don't need to do anything to tank. The youthful talent and lack of talent elsewhere will mean we have a high pick again. If we can get another high pick, trade our expirings/Andy for asset(s) and hit on the Lakers pick, maybe we'll be in a position to add a good player in free agency and start to compete next season.

I didn't even bother reading the replies, I just wanted to come in here to say this thread sucks. Based on the timing of the OP this was made when we were getting destroyed by the Bulls. We are 2 games into the season, save the tanking talk for halfway into the season at least.

(This is coming from a strong supporter of tanking last year, and wouldn't mind doing it at all again this year. Let the team show us what they got first though.)
