Its time to flip a few younger assets into a solid veteran who will assume a leadership role. They swung and missed with Deng and Jack, but both seemed to resent being a Cavalier at times during the season.
I believe the team has a list of trade options if LeBron does want to return to Northeast Ohio, and they will require the Cavaliers to give up six quarters for a dollar. I feel like future picks, Dion, Thompson, Zeller, and pretty much anyone will be made available if LeBron says he will come back if X, Y, and Z happens. LeBron seems to like playing with veterans his age rather than waiting for a young team to develop around him, but I might be wrong. A target like Love only makes sense if you secure James, not such a great move if LeBron stays.
If LeBron stays in Miami like everyone predicts, I'd still expect a roster shakeup to bring in a player or two in his prime, I just doubt the list of targets would be so LeBron centered. Teams that miss out on the LeBron sweepstakes will certainly be ready for a big move: Golden State, Houston, Chicago, New Orleans, Toronto and Dallas to name a few.
