Tressel knew of gear scheme last April

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tressel, AD Gene Smith and President Gordon Gee are all going to be part of the presser. I'm crossing my fingers that this is just damage control.

From the OSU Athletic Communications office:

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Officials with the Ohio State University and Department of Athletics will be available at 7 p.m. Tuesday (3/8/11).

E. Gordon Gee, Ohio State University president, Gene Smith, vice president and director of athletics, and Jim Tressel, head football coach, will address the media at the Jack Nicklaus Museum (2355 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43210).

hmm. I find it strange the three top dogs all the sudden are holding a presser.

Does Jim Tressel resign tonight?

If they can prove it, then Tressel gets fired. Pretty easy to figure out.

BigTenExaminers Eleven Warriors tweets they are hearing that Jim Tressel will admit wrongdoing and suggests sanctions and suspensions are possible.

Interesting

EDIT to add

elevenwarriors Would obviously love to be wrong here, but source has been solid in the past.

Also since when is yahoo a private investigator? If they gonna make accusations like this then you gotta name people.

Journalists usually don't name their sources. This is called having integrity. If they did, the next time they went to that source, they'd probably say "FUCK OFF".

I hope OSU loses bowl games like any other school would.

Antoniopittman: This osu tattoo stuff is silly. Cats been gettin hookups on tatts since back in 01
23 Dec

Not good that Antonio was running his mouth back in December.

Also, if I remember correctly, Tressel was rumored to step down shortly after the news about the players selling gear came out. I have a really bad feeling about this...

Pres. Gee told AP: "We have reported a violation, a perceived violation, that we were having discussions with them (the NCAA) about the best way to handle it. We reported that immediately when we found it.''
