TT is a decent nba rotation player. He’s not a star, but he’s a valuable guy. Have you guys looked at what the average career is for the 15th pick in the draft? You got about a 10% chance at landing a star and a 15% at getting a solid rotation player. That’s the upside. So if you trade TT for a 15th pick, theres a 75% chance that you just lowered the over all talent on the team.
Liquidating aging vets on expiring contracts for assets with a longer shelf life is often a good play. Trading a healthy 27 year old center for a long shot pick just becuase he keeps a long long shot prospect on the bench is foolhardy. Somtimes standing pat is the best play.
