Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In each scenario I think he improved more than Paul George. PG kind of became the it player last year, but when you look at his production it didn't go up a ton and he was actually less efficient than the previous year given the increase in minutes. Tristan went from a guy that looked lost and awkward on the court to a double double machine.
I agree completely that PG has been overrated a bit. Yes TT improved a ton but the Cavs were really bad and nobody from the national media was paying attention. If the Cavs can put together a good year and make the playoffs while TT continues improving... I think he has a good shot this year.

Really makes you wonder what took him so long to decide to make the change. I can't figure it out. Was talking with Chones, Campy, AC about it around the start of camp, and to all of us it was so clear from the very beginning that his better hand was his right, and that is in terms of touch and feel for Tristan. His left is stronger, but when it comes to shooting ..his right hand is far far superior.

7:30 "It's so impressive. He's shooting the jump hook with his right hand, Tristan Thompson is a lefty!" :chuckles:

The few clips of him here, His moves with the right hand look so much more fluid and it's obvious. Crazy a kid can come up through aau circuit, High school powerhouse & then D1 program and never was asked or brought up to change his shooting hand. To our knowledge of course.

There was just a segment on the pre-game where he did some silly routine where he looked at his left hand and his right hand, put his left hand down and did a goofy nod and look at his right hand and then the camera. Anyway, that would be a good gif if someone could do it.

Oh my...

That first step looked quick. And the jumper!!!!!

Wow. I was excited in preseason but damn he's looking good against the Nets now too!

Brendan Bowers

Brown said Tristan Thompson told him during the game: "Coach, if no one wants to get those rebounds I am going to get them all"

my favorite Cavalier right now

His jump shot looks really good. The only one I recall him missing was a off balance contested one as the shot clock expired.

God damn what a game from TT! His shot look gooooooood, has low post game seemed smoother, his defense was terrific, great hustle, great everything basically. and the crazy thing is, that when you look at his game, it really didn't seem like he was playing over his level. He got those numbers by taking shots he knew he could make and going hard on the rebounds. phenomonal game from him, and i have no doubt we'll be seeing more of the same throughout the season.

If you add a reliable jump shot to what he was doing the 2nd half of last season, I don't see how this isn't an All-Star caliber player.

I'm not sure anyone really knew he could make those Js consistently in games. Brings a smile to my face.

If he keeps this up, I hate to say it, what are rye gonna have to pay him? But he looked smooth!

Yep.. would've been sweet to get Davis..

Anyway, I really think TT is going to have a big year. What's his chances at MIP?

He'll be in the running again I bet .. but, we'll see. Never know how things will play out. Tonight's game just brought me to the realization that he may be even further along than I thought. Tristan with a developed offensive game is an all star, folks.

and when word and scouting reports catch up to his newly developed outside shot, he's got the ability/mobility to blow past a defender closing out. then, from that point, you develop a passing game, and you have a compete player. look out, it's coming fast.
