Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am starting to think AVs regression has to do With Tristan being the better player.

I would agree if you said "Tristan being a better player than he was last year". Tristan had definitely improved and there are only so many shots and rebounds to go around & Tristan's getting more this year. I think it's also true that Mike Brown isn't show casing Varejao as much as Scott did last year. I think it's also true that Andy looks like he fell off his diet plan during his honeymoon in October. It's also true that the Cavs guard play has been less that ideal, so when big men can't the the ball in their spots, they don't look as good.

So there's a lot of factors involved. I expect we'll see both Tristan and Varejao to improve as the season moves along.

Love TT man, he's a good person first off, great personality... But man this kid is going to be a beast on the court in due time. Just a reminder he's averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 75% from the line. The scary thing is that he's not even fully developed yet, just waiting till he fine-tunes his offensive game and footwork and keeps gaining experience while getting comfortable with his game. I don't even want to guess what kind of numbers he can put up when this happens if he's already putting up 13 and 10 while shooting 45% from the field currently. Also right now he has 7 double doubles and is tied for 3rd in that category in the NBA among PF and C's. He is also tied for fourth in the whole NBA with double doubles only trailing Chris Paul, Kevin Love and Blake Griffin.

I will never, ever worry about TT stagnating and not developing. He is simply too much of a hard worker and I'm starting scratch my head thinking of other big men who work as hard and as diligently as him. He is really an amazing player and personality to have on your team and i agree with the poster who in another thread said that if this guy was on The Spurs he would be looking like even more of an all-star.

Uploaded TT's highlights from the Wizards game. We need Tristan playing like he did here. When he shoots that mid range confidently it really does open the rest of his game.

Man, I love you. I have been scouring youtube and they don't usually do highlights for a cavs player except for Kyrie. So thanks for this.

Im still trying to learn the ropes of the whole thing! I figure people will always do Kyrie ones so I'm going to do one for Tristan & Dion (aswell as our rooks) for each game till the end of the season. Expect the quality to go up too, these few ones look like they've been recorded with a potato because I'm still tweaking with what and what doesn't work.

Well keep it up, brother. Detroit has GrantHill channel. Houston has BlakeAtkins22 and we have you. Thanks again.

I like TT's progress as much as the next guy but we cant exclude him from all the hate that guys like Dion, Kyrie, etc... get.

HE was awful tonight, 2 and 4 while getting dominated by the Wizard big guys shouldn't be acceptable. He has made a lot of improvement but is still very inconsistent, pretty disappointed in him tonight

Yeah he is looking like a JJ Hickson clone but can catch the ball and isn't a head case. Not sure where that double double machine that we were promised is but he is getting owned by bigger men.

Not sure what happened to them after tonight, but coming in, his averages were 13 and 9.9. Last I checked, that's about what many expected. He didn't see much time in the second half either.

Not sure what happened in the 1st quarter, but Thompson was strictly guarding Gortat in the second and third, and doing just fine. Nene was abusing Varejao and Bynum when I started watching. So, unless something else was going on the first, I'm not sure who exactly was dominating him??

Either way, not a good game from him, but again, Brown is putting everyone in a position to fail, so I'm just not angry with the players.

He seems to lack that game changing scoring and rebounding that we need that Andy provided before getting hurt last season.

Changed those games so much that we were like 5-20 when he got hurt.

Did you watch the game Saturday? He had at least 3 CRUCIAL offensive rebounds over 3 defenders down the stretch. The difference is that Tristan isn't having the offense run through him 50% of the time like Andy did last season.

Yeah, I agree.

But let's be real ... when your team blows that bad ... one dude that hustles and get rebounds is not going to make your wins go up that much. But for a contending team, that sort of player is invaluable.
