Drew, Drew, Drew..

Drew originally stuck his tongue out for his dunks but opted to close his eyes instead out of respect for Jordan. After this blocked shot, you can see him run to the bench and celebrate with his teammates.

can we wait till TT's played a game before comparing him to half of the big men that have played in the NBA?

Im seeing a less polished Kenyon Martin without the thug attitude. I don't think he is going to put up the numbers like K-Mart did on the Nets, but I think he has the potential to be that kind of a player.

This is a pretty good comparison. Probably better then my Grant comparison as TnT is probably closer to Martin's size and Martin also has a more raw offensive game.

I can't emphasize how much a jumpshot will help Thompson and the Cavs. The Bulls were not able to play Noah to end there series against Miami last year because he couldn't stretch the floor. On the other hand you see what a teams like Dallas, Orlando, Lakers (pre and post Shaq) have been able to do with 4's who can hit jumpshots. The modern NBA defenses are extremely good at closing the lane if you can't space the floor. Even with Ben Wallace in Detroit, they succeeded when they had Rasheed paired next to him who had 3 point range

I see Tristan in the mold of Roy Hinson when he came into the league ...

Not that your point is without merit, but in the closeout game the Bulls didn't just sit Noah, they sat Loozer as well for the entire 4th quarter as they went on to blow a 9pt lead. They instead went with a rusty Kurt Thomas and Taj Gibson. All 4 of them played pretty crappy.

There are various ways to use a big who can't shoot - and the Bulls would often use Noah to initiate plays; but it's the sort of thing guys tend to learn with experience.

fwiw, Andy's jumper was tremendously improved last season. It'll be interesting to see if he builds on that, or if it was just a fluke.

I hope Tristan is better than Kenny Thomas.

Those undersized forwards that depend on the springs in their legs to play with the big guys don't usually make it past the age of 28 with any sort of grace.

This is why I think TT would do well early in his career to model his game after someone like Tyrone Hill, but with shot blocking ability. A tenacious rebounder with a few very good and reliable post moves and an enforcer in the paint. He'll get his couple dunks a game, but I don't want him to fall in love with the game above the rim. Defense, offensive rebounding, and scoring within 10 feet, that's the way he'll find success early in his career, IMO.

Though his jump shots need a lot of work, I think at least he has some decent hook shots to score,
depends on the height of the opposing PF though ;-)

But he can seriously dunk the ball :)

Quick, while they are not looking, run into the church with me... we'll be safe there

Ok, Tiffany...

never considered Ty Hill an enforcer in anyway, and neither does Oak. And what's good for Oak is good for everyone.

Love this kid and his attitude... Wants to work, and I am going to wait and compare him to somebody because honestly, I haven't watched many of his games. Like they say, hardwork beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. And Tristan has both of those.

Granted, he was no Oakley, but he wasn't afraid to put a hard foul on someone. In today's league, an occasional hard foul is about all you can ask for. I want to see some tough play on D. Sure as heck won't be getting that from Jamison. :chuckles:

With a face like Ty Hill, he's an enforcer by default....not that I'm saying he's fugly or anything.
