Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Is Tristan a finished product already, WTF? If guys like Ibaka and Horford can develop reliable jump shots, one would think that Thompson has a good shot at doing the same if he continues to put time into his.

Who did you want to draft at #4 that year? Honestly? It drives me up the wall because you keep railing Dion and TT as worthless picks but who could we have selected after them that would not disappoint you so much?

Valanciunas? That is who I wanted during the draft.

Let's see what he is doing this year. In 29 minutes a game:

10.7 pts 8.4 rebs 1.9 turnovers .4 steals .7 assists 1.1 blocks 76% from the FT line and 50% from the field.

TT in 33 minutes a game:

12.0 pts, 9.8 rebounds 1.6 turnovers .5 steals .9 assists .4 blocks 66.9 % from the FT line and 45% from the field

Definitely not much of a difference in stats. Please show me someone else you would have liked to draft instead of TT and get a product on the floor that you think would be worth a #4 pick in that draft. And don't say Klay Thompson because no one had him going anywhere near #4. His success could not have been predicted.

Are you serious?? I had Klay Thompson as one of the top 5 players in that draft. How could anybody not see the elite shooting ability that Thompson showed at Washington. His dad played in the NBA. Does that sound similar to Steph Curry? Go figure that they are the two best shooters in the league. How the fuck can you sit here and say that nobody had Klay Thompson that high in the draft.

You keep relying on stats to compare Jonas and Tristan :chuckles:

What would Tristan's numbers look like if he was in Toronto? How would Jonas look if he was here?

I mean what the fuck, we drafted Tristan and didn't even trade Andy. Now Andy when he's been healthy has outplayed Tristan hands down no questions asked. It's like the same arguement people make about the Jack signing. Why sign Jarrett Jack for 6m/yr to play backup PG if you're going to bring Dion off the bench.

Why the fuck did we draft Anthony Bennett if we drafted Tristan and we still had Andy?

This needs to be highlighted. How the hell are we going to trade Andy when he was hurt each of the last 3 years?

Really look at who you guys are wasting words on.

Horford had already showed he could knock down jumpshots at Florida. Look at Tristan's feel for the game. He's to machanical. I mean seriously sometimes he's not even on the right pivot when he's facing the basket. He's a garbage man.

Please, keep telling us how a guy less than 1 year removed from CHANGING SHOOTING HANDS is who he is going to be for the rest of his career on offense.

Am I the only one that actually uses the ignore feature for terrible posters? It's wonderful.

Is that your excuse for Tristan? Is it all because he changed shooting hands even though he still doesn't want to even attempt a wide open 15 footer?

Ok next season when Tristan's offense is still non existant what will be the excuse then?

I did like how he got an offensive rebound and then dribbled back out a couple times instead of forcing up a shot in traffic. Obviously finding the open man would be even better (0 assists again???) but it was nice to see some good decision making from him.

Sounds like you are hoping a young player on the team you are a fan of does not take the next step despite showing enough growth the past 2 years to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I wait until I see a long list of bad post. People vent and make bad post time to time, got to give them enough rope to hang themselves.

It's not an excuse, it's a legit hindrance. You need to learn the difference between excuses and actual issues. He is doing something no NBA player has ever done, and all he has done is raise his FT% from 60% to 67% and actually made real jump shots from 15 feet and out. This is less than 1 year removed from changing shooting hands and a player none of us ever thought was going to hit 67% from the line or make a legit jump shot. Can he take it more often and make the defense come out to him? Yes, but he's only going to take more as he continues to work on something he has only done for 7, 8 months after 20+ years of being left-handed. He rebounds so well, plays good 1 on 1 defense already for a young big, gets to the line often, is already one of the best dribble drive bigs in the game, can finish with both hands, is getting better at passing the ball, and is raising his FT% significantly (usually a sign that a consistent jumper is on the way with a bit more work), yet all people like you can do is focus on how he doesn't take more 15 footers.
