Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Watch close and watch Tyler's big fucking feet.

Tyson Chandler was already gone and Zeller MAYBE was just showing I guess???

I dont know

But its definitely his right foot that "broke" Tristans ankle, not JR Smith

I've never hated Tristan, love how hard he plays (played before quitting on Brown, which is understandable since Brown)

But Ive seen young guys get RUINED by worst plays that what happened to him tonight. That was just negligent on the coach to have him out there in space on a guard like that. You simply cant let Brown keep coaching these guys.

Lets look at the Zapruder film for this one... (sticking up for you Tristan, pay me back by starting to shoot 15 footers and stop playing like so timid on offense)

Im a Cavs fans first and foremost. I can critize our boys amongst other Cavs fans but when other fans/pundits start doing it, my blood boils. Im over here with #Tristan and #JRSmith in my Jannetter mentions windows and Im going to tweet this pic/series to pundits like young @AlexKennedy who try to get viral off a lazy step back crossover that Tristan was covering just fine until Tyler showed off his man (seconds AFTER the step back btw) to contain JR (as per Browns hard hedge every perimeter ball handler stupid archaic principal) and Tristan stepped on Tylers right foot and his ankle buckled.

Instead of tweeting the shock and awe, how about being real journalists and covering a 20 million dollar story like why this coach needs to be fired before he ruins all these young lottery picks? $20 million to get rid of this coach, or 5 lottery picks who are worth at least that EACH while developing over the life of their rookie deals? Time to eat that salary Dan. Sorry man.

All in one shot with a zoom on the Hard Hedge/Tyler breaking Tristan's ankle :thumbdown

Not that it will really make a difference, the "ankle breaking" narrative is fun and will blow over by lunchtime, but its worth it to counter it when you consider this will be Knicks fans talking all this shit tomorrow. SMH

I guess a little Karma, considering Kyrie really didnt cross Brandon Knight last year at ASB as much as he slipped while closing out AFTER the hesitation move was already pulled off

But I dont give a shit. Tristan is one of ours, Knight wasnt... :chuckles:

When you catch a rebound you are supposed to keep the ball HIGH. This is basketball 101. Every time TT gets an offensive board he decides it's a good idea to squat as low as possible for some reason. Why are coaches not fixing this? He's been doing it his whole career. This is something that is fixable in a MONTH, but it hasn't been fixed over the course of 3 SEASONS. KEEP THE BALL HIGH INSTEAD OF GETTING BLOCKED EVERY TIME!

I think Grant would be wise to move Tristan while he is still on his rookie contract and he is young enough for teams to believe he is still growing. I don't see him as anything more than a hollow numbers guy that doesn't do anything above average except for rebound at the offensive end. You can't use him in the pick and roll because he is no threat to shoot and if he rolls, he isn't athletic enough to get to the rim and finish. He's an ok defender, but lacks the size and instincts to be anything to get excited about.

He's a good, solid 3rd big in this league. Not going to kill you with bad play, but not going to carry you with good play. If you partner him with a high caliber offensive big, maybe he can start on a decent team and be productive. He's just not a fit with what have going on right now and you will be able to find guys down the road that will be able to match 75% of his production for 25% of the price once his rookie deal expires.

I really like the kid but I have to agree with others, he's an average big man and nothing more

If tanking is the plan again, move him I guess. But we're gonna need to draft another PF or sign one in the off-season. Neither Bennett nor Thompson look like the future. But, then again, I'm not sure anyone is really the future of anything on this team atm.

So quick to give up on Anthony Bennett...

Someone with the skills he possesses doesn't just forget how to play basketball over an off-season. Let's wait until next season or at least until we start giving him consistent, extensive minutes before we declare him a lost cause.

Just not addressing this argument anymore. Every year, in every draft, there are guys who looked like they had all sorts of skills and ability in college only to look very average in the NBA and bust out. EVERY. YEAR.

Not to mention you can find an average pf in any draft that you can just plug in and give you some production.

Tristan Thompson is what he is. And he doesn't seem like the type of player that starts on a championship team or even a playoff team. If he won't even try to shoot a jumper, he really isn't any better than he was last year. He seems like a good kid, a decent guy to have on the team. I personally think he could excel as a third big.

Right now, it looks pretty grim that we spent two top 4 picks on PFs and we don't even know if we have a potential starting PF on this team. Very discouraging. Obviously Bennett is seen as having more upside given his youth and his injury, but if we objectively judge his play, it is tough to say, "That is a future all star."

I struggle to see Tristan on this roster next year, but I'm really not sure at this point. So many "sure things" are becoming question marks. And many questions remained unanswered. But based on what I see to this point, Tristan lacks those premier skills to be a major piece going forward.

Tristan is prime example of this coaching staff not able to make adjustments. He went all summer working on certain things and now teams have adjusted to things he is doing but the coaching staff isnt doing anything to correct it. Teach him to pass from under the hoop when he is in too deep instead of powering up to try to dunk. Maybe teach him how to lay the ball up against the board for the put back shot. He is regressing every game. Is there even a young player that seems to be improving?

So TT got hammered in NY with Kyrie?

Sounds like J.R. got somebody, never heard which player(s). Are you asking or you heard that?

New York New York big city of dreams
And everything in New York ain't always what it seems
