Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
TT got dominated on the glass the first three quarters...

Getting a mix of mostly cleanup buckets and some Kyrie-assisted buckets in the 4th quarter isn't going to change my mind that he is negatively affecting our offense.

Still love the guy, this doesn't have to be a black/white love/hate TT/AB thing...

Also there was some statistic that showed the ream gives up a ridiculous amount of points when TT is at the C

On the flipside he has managed to shut down some very high profile PF's this season so i wouldn't really say he hurts us defensively. you could say that he got dominated on the glass for the first three quarters but what happened in the fourth? his work ethic and motor gained him an advantage late in the game which in the end gave him the advantage and secured us the win. don't discredit the fourth quarter man.

I really like Tristan. I hope he gains a lot more confidence with shooting the ball from 15ft. I got excited when I seen him make a jumpshot.

He need some time to really get used to his right hand. I'm looking forward to him in the future.

Tristan was matched up on Monroe for a long stretch of the night, but what a war in the paint! Glad I recorded it, may watch it again tonight.

The game against detroit was not a fluke. Thompson has consistently performed well against monroe and compares favorably with drummond outside of one game last april when scott unnecessarily too a foul a drummond approach that was a complete backfire.

Thompson though cannot play 2 on 1 with drummond and Monroe. he needs help be it from the frot court, bench or exceptional offensive output from the backcourt.

I have been one of the biggest Thompson supporters maybe not on this board but In my mind he Is a very solid underrated player on this hopefully not so more mess of a team. He Is the piece that could also be a huge reason to land a Love type player. In my mind he has the second most Value on this team. He Is poised to be as good even better than Andy will be and If he stays I hope he gets better. He for sure seems to be the most level headed member of this team.

just add a little bit more he plays every game.

i think the addition of luol deng has resulted in TT needing to adjust his position so the cavs can start getting used to the cuts Deng is apt to run. Although deng isnt geting many oppurtunities you do see him run the routes.

Thompson also lost some confidence in his shot hes been developing. Tristan is 11th in double doubles and 6th amongst forwards in double doubles for points and rebounds.

7 gammes in the last was the longest he had gone without a doubles. aka slump

5 games is the most games in a row Thompson has shot 50% or higher. he has though no shot 50% or higher in 5 out of 6 games.

I don't think it makes anymore sense now to maintain having Thompson, and Varejao going forward than it did last year before AV's inevitable injury.

The biggest gain Griffin can make going forward is removing the duplicity from the roster. Overlapping skill sets, and partly used players should be a thing of the past.

Irving isn't being freed up to defend by having Jack, and Waiters run the offense. Thompson isn't being freed up from rebounding and defensive responsibilities to run offense. It makes more sense to put these guys in the positions they exceed, and expel the players that are in their way.

This was the best passing I've seen from TT all season. He missed a few that he should have made, but it was an important step forward for him.

Tristan is still a better overall player than Bennett (for now), but because Bennett is improving at a much more rapid pace, people give him preference.

Bennett can do a lot of what Thompson can. Bennett can also can an open jumper. On a team with penetrating guards he's a god send.

Another strong game from Tristan finishing with a 16-14, making it 4 straight double-doubles. His numbers over that stretch:

17.3 points, 13 rebounds, 59% FG, 71% FT

Can't wait to trade this guy :chuckles:

Bennett can do that and more if givin the same mins. TT gets so many rebounds because of all the chucking the gaurds do without passing down low. Also he's still catching a lot of his own misses. I do see that he stopped forcing up shots after getting the rebound the last 2 games. He now walks it out.
