Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's a "glue guy"
I like my glue guys to not be able to make jump shots, not get defensive rebounds, beat up in the post, blocked at the rim, not blocking shots, or taking charges. Give me all of that for 11 million a year please.

The one person we should be able to move is AV. I mean he deserves the money in his extension, but not on this team.

This year he would have been a $10mil expiring we could have traded to fill another need (wing d, backup pg, front court depth). There is no reason AV and TT should both be on the roster and AV is more valuable simply due to his durability.

As it is now, AV is just a lux tax hit for DG and a roster spot.

As far as loyalty, if the Celtics can trade Pierce, then Varajao can certainly be moved.

You think we are going to be able to move AV? No one is going to take him making 10 mil a year and coming off a ruptured Achilles.

Maybe before his extension and injury. No chance now.

Would much rather have held on to Speights than TT. TT should be the 10th man coming off the bench for a championship caliber team.

If he were able to do even ONE of these things he would be so much more valuable. If he could defend at the rim or the post, he would be a valuable player. Just so damn frustrating. He's just an effort guy who's great at getting offense rebounds. Sigh.

TT needs to just start getting the ball to the glass quickly as possible, instead of trying to dunk it every time and getting stuffed.
If he hasn't learned that in four seasons or at least a simple pump fake, that says a lot about him as a NBA player. He has no general awareness on the court, he's a low IQ basketball player.

There's no reason TT should keep starting over Mozgov and I rather not see us resign him. Yes TT can get some hustle rebounds and baskets but outside of that he doesn't really offer that much for what he will be wanting. Would much rather see that money go somewhere else like resigning Shumpert.

It's already been said that Mozgov will start the rest of the season at C, just didn't last night because "he didn't have enough time under his belt with us" basically.

Everyone knows the negatives with Tristan; he's too small for his most effective position, his awareness with the ball is atrocious, and he still looks lost guarding anyone on the perimeter. I can't deny it's infuriating to watch him get his shot blocked in a crowd when there's open shooters littered around the court. I also can't say I enjoy watching him missing one of two bunnies a game.

But he does bring positives to the table- his offensive rebounding is elite, his finishing has improved this year (hitting more than half his shots for the first time in his career), and he's the only player on the team that hasn't missed a game due to injury.

His screen setting has always been underrated- but his ability to set hard, capable screens before rolling hard to the basket and finishing lobs has been key in freeing up our shooters and letting our offense reach anything near it's optimal level. There's a big reason Tristan has the highest offensive rating on the team (118), a two man game with him or LeBron/Kyrie surrounded by shooters has been proven to be wildly effective on the offensive end.

This isn't a case that Tristan should remain starting, Mozgov should and will become the team's starting center. I think Tristan still has value on this team as the third big; it wasn't too long ago our bench was so depleted that Brendan Haywood and Lou Amundson were seeing minutes.

I think everybody has it twisted. All LeBron wants is for Tristan to get paid, in turn Rich Paul gets paid.

I don't think Tristan has to play here, they just want to see him get paid.

As long as the contract ins't an atrocity, he should remain valuable and flippable. He's a healthy 24 year old PF who can do garner a lot of extra possessions.

When he gets paid, I see his work ethic remaining constant.

It's a tough call, he isn't a total scrub like Hickson. Tristan does some real good things out there, he just needs to never shoot the ball. I don't know if a player can live like that. If there was anyone who could I think it would be Tristan.

A PF with frozen stone cold hands when you pass him the ball expect him to fumble it, maybe he can apply some elmer's glue to his hands. He has to have one of the lowest basketball IQ's in the league, he is dreadful.
