Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Because a salary cap exists. Bigger the salary the harder it is to make moves later on if the need for it arises.

Otherwise Dan Gilbert might as well pay Delly 15 million a year, makes no difference to me.

Yeah...what is an extra few million off of his salary going to do, if anything? We're so far over the cap already our options are limited and any young player locked up to a multi-year deal is considered a valuable trade asset.

So, again...why are FANS complaining about how much Dan Gilbert is paying this guy.

Here's what I came up with for what TT's contract would look like assuming they used 7.5% annual raises. I assume they did given our tax situation. I have numbers for all signings and Shump in the offseason thread.

2015-16 $ 14,000,000
2016-17 $ 15,050,000
2017-18 $ 16,100,000
2018-19 $ 17,150,000
2019-20 $ 18,200,000
Total $ 80,500,000

If we can get Diaw and Mills from the Spurs for the Haywood contract somehow I'd tell Tristan to go off to the Lakers then. But that's only if we can find a replacement for him, which honestly can't be that hard. Hustle guys that rebound are a dime a dozen. So many players would put up nice rebounding numbers with the spacing Love, Lebron, and Kyrie provide and Moz boxing out down low.

HAHAHAHA....here comes the "dime a dozen", "he's easily replaceable" shit again.

Tarik Black flashbacks...

Why would Spurs give Diaw away though? He is the only big they have apart from Duncan.

How does Boris Diaw even remotely replace what Thompson gives us? Besides the huge age difference, Diaw is not going to motor through games and wear out opponents by beasting on the glass. Pay the man.

I think we will finally agree...do you guys think other teams will offer him something close to that?

Spurs aren't going to give up Diaw. They just lost Aron Baynes. Taking a huge hit in the front court.

I'm still amazed that people think what Tristan gives us is "easily replaceable"...especially after what we saw him do in the playoffs with K Love out...maybe by 2 players his production can be replaced, but there aren't many individual players in the league who can do what he can, and they certainly aren't available for us to replace him with.

Also now he hasnt agreed do we wait for him to sign offer sheet or just pay him?

4 offensive rebounds a game arent worth 90 million dollars. And the reason he's able to get so many on the offensive glass is because no one bothers to put a man on him on offense since he's subpar in the post. No man guarding you = no one to box out.

I'm a little late here, I thought TT was a done deal?

Reported yesterday that it was close. Reported today that it's still not done.

Agreed. It's why I chuckle when people say he's as good as Love. Since he can't shoot, he's always around the basket to get boards. If Love hung out there as well he would be picking up offensive boards. When you're out on the three point line you're not grabbing rebounds but you open up the floor.
