Visiting Cleveland for the NBA Finals

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Never been to Ohio. Would be crazy for my first time in Cleveland to be during the Finals. I would love it so much. Almost zero NBA fans in Kansas and I don't know any Cavs fans personally. If it wasn't for RCF, I would have nobody to talk Cavs and share these great moments.

I've thought about driving down. Only thing I would probably be able to afford is going to a watch party (they are free right? :chuckle:). Highly doubt I could afford Finals tickets.
Woah! How did you become a Cavs fan?

Loved basketball since birth. But never had cable. But we had this weird satellite that got random channels. I would watch anything basketball if I had the chance. Happened to somehow get FSN Ohio, therefore all the Cavs games. It was the only basketball available to watch. And it just happened to be LeBron's rookie year when I had it.

Fate I guess.

Also cavs.flashseats.com is by far your best bet for tickets. Single tickets tend to be a little cheaper than pairs. Not sure how much they will run- so far throughout the playoffs for upper level tickets they were around $50/ticket for the Boston series, $60-70 for Chicago, and around $90 for Atlanta. For the Chicago series game 2, I bid on some lower level row 18 tickets the day of the game around 4pm and got them for $80/ticket which was listed as face value on my invoice. They tend to get cheaper the day of, and there are generally a decent amount of tickets so even if you're coming from out of town you shouldn't have to worry.

No clue about celebrations after since we don't have much experience with that... ;)
Don't bet on tickets getting cheaper as we get close to game time. That's not how it worked for the Super Bowl this year, and likely won't work for the NBA Finals.

Especially if we steal one in GS!

Lol that's a pretty cool story.

Will additional tickets be released for non-season ticket holders, like they were throughout the playoffs?
If they are you won't have a chance at buying these. I've tried every damn time for playoffs and they are sold instantly!

Do you get the emails when they release some the day of the game? I've gotten them for every game and there are always tickets available. They've been a lot more expensive than flash seats, but who knows if that will be true for the finals.

#4 is ineffable. Tell 'em, Jigo. We need to jinx the jinx.

"Oh my god! We're not going to just LOSE to those Bay Area Jerks, we'll be ANNIHILATED!! Curry will not only hit open threes, he'll bounce them off the backboard! Klay will make everything and make us wish we drafted him instead of the 'other' Thompson! LeBron won't make the backside of a barn, let alone a hoop! Kyrie will not only re-injure himself, he'll do so just from being touched!"

OMFG-ICBT-WDID??

Is that good enough?!

You might be able to do this for a single ticket but it will be impossible for a pair.

If I have a chance to snag any single tickets, I'll offer them at face in a drawing to people on the board.

Going to be really hard though. This might be the most expensive ticket in Cleveland sports history.

Let's not overdo it.

Also, there are significantly more tickets available on flash seats this playoffs than during the regular season because many season ticket holders bought additional packages to sell.

I'd agree with that in rounds 1, 2 and 3 but that probably dwindles for the finals (even with more money to be made).

For example, I bought an additional pair so I would guarantee finals tickets for everyone in my family. I used them for only one of the Chicago and Atlanta games but then sold them for all of Boston series. So I was one of the people making additional seats available.

That won't be the case in the finals, even with a ton of money to be made. I invested all the money this season so I could take my family and friends to the finals. I could be in the minority but I would guess a good chunk of people had this same strategy. That their motivation to buy extra seats was to guarantee extra tickets to the Finals.

Hopefully that's not the case for everyone wanting single games seats but I have a feeling there will be a lot less tickets hit the market (vs. the previous playoff series). Weekday games could help but with only 20,000 tickets to each game, it's already such a small pool.

I also sold a fair amount during the season, but have never missed a LeBron home playoff game, so I buy season tickets especially for the playoffs. I bought four extra seats, sold some, but also brought the kids to many. With the Finals, I will not miss any games and will likely use the remaining seats for family, perhaps selling some of the uppers if the price is right, but not for any bargain price.

I think you'll see a lot of tickets listed for big prices, not because ticketholders want to sell them, but because they are testing how high someone might pay, only to remove the listing come game day. Thus, like the opening day, I think the large number of listings will be illusory. If the Cavs win the opening game, look for crazy prices.

I can't imagine what a possible close out game in Cleveland would go for. I would not sell regardless of the price offered. (I would also travel to Oakland if there was a possible game 7 or 5 close out game for Cleveland).

The one thing about the Finals is the vast crowd it attracts. I met Franco Harris at the last Cavs game, so it will be a lot of fans from other states checking in. The demand will far exceed the supply.

Flew in from Tampa, got game 3 ticket on flash seats, game 4 through the site.

Flash seat tickets for games 3 and 4 go on sale at 11am est on June 1st in case anyone is wondering

Was anyone able to buy tickets for games 3 or 4 when they went on sale for Wine and Gold Members today at 9am? It looks like it sold out quick or there was at least a very limited supply. Just curious if anyone was able to get in and what the prices were.

It is going to be interesting to see what tickets start going for on flashseats at 12pm today. From what I have seen, the other sites (stubhub, seatgeek, etc) are not good predictors...you cant really tell until they are released for sale on flashseats.
