Visiting the Q (from a land down under)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I fucking love this site.

Simmy, glad to hear you're having the time of your life, but I think the best part might be yet to come with the game tonight.

I rarely post on this site, just an avid reader, but I had to post and say what a pleasure it is to follow you throughout your journey Simmy!

Thank you so much @dkbldev, I'm so glad that my journey has brought so much of the RCF community together.

What's wrong with me? I keep refreshing this thread. It's like a freakin safari!

Didn't realize how difficult the cold makes it to see! Standing by Lake Erie was the coldest "cold" I've ever felt!

Now imagine paying top dollar to go early in the morning and spend the better part of your day sitting in that cold to watch the Browns. That's Cleveland.

I'll be at the game tonight a few sections over from you. Told my wife your story and were both looking forward to seeing if you get some jumbotron screen time.

Also, The Arcade is gorgeous. Was this part of town more lively once upon ago?

Yes, the area right there has been bouncing back. The arcade was in real bad shape just a few years ago until the current changes. Could be wrong but I think it was one of the first malls in America? I know it wasn't the first. Anyhoo the area looks dead b/c this is a cold ass work day with a brutal wind. The weather now is about as bad as Cleveland weather gets (sans the artic clippers that freeze the whole Midwest)- rain n freezing rain to snow to low teens w/ a lovely wind. Tonight it will liven up down there, anywhere u go should be fun: e 4 th, w 6 th, w 25th, Tremont, etc. Enjoy!

Thanks @macbdog and & @B Mac.

Is the temperate in the Q well regulated? I know I always see people in tees, but I don't know if my body is acclimated to that as yet & obviously want to show my Cavs colors!

This whole Simmy Safari makes me wish I was back in Cleveland to help welcome him to town. Enjoy your experience, Simmy. Cleveland is an AWESOME place and you'll be hard-pressed to find better people anywhere in the US.

Longtime member but rarely post... This thread is awesome and Its really cool to see someone from afar get so excited about our city. Lived here all my life and work in the Caxton building downtown (stones throw away from the Q). Its easy to take for granted how cool Cleveland really is... Until you get the perspective from a visitor. Thanks Simmy and hope you have an awesome time! Sounds like you are hitting all the right spots.

(Speaking of taking it for granted, i turned down two free tickets to tonights game. Tough work week and just wanted to be home. Ugh. Kicking myself now after reading thru this thread)

Thanks @macbdog and & @B Mac.

yeah, it's nice and warm in there! i always freeze on the walk in (even wearing a big coat) and am always comfortable in just a t-shirt and jersey. it's still comfortable putting your coat against the back of your chair, too.

I've been in the miserable city of Pittsburgh for almost 10 years now, and I can assure you something like this would NEVER happen there - EVER.

This is exactly why I always have and always will tell people I'm a Clevelander, born and raised. Reading this thread has me pretty damn proud to be able to say that. So much so that you all have inspired me today to book plans and buy tickets to come home and watch my Cavaliers at the Q next month.

I believe it was LeBron who once said, "I'm Coming Home"

Thanks all - and, Simmy, I hope you have a damn good time tonight. Go Cavs!
