Visiting the Q (from a land down under)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Longtime member but rarely post... This thread is awesome and Its really cool to see someone from afar get so excited about our city. Lived here all my life and work in the Caxton building downtown (stones throw away from the Q). Its easy to take for granted how cool Cleveland really is... Until you get the perspective from a visitor. Thanks Simmy and hope you have an awesome time! Sounds like you are hitting all the right spots.

(Speaking of taking it for granted, i turned down two free tickets to tonights game. Tough work week and just wanted to be home. Ugh. Kicking myself now after reading thru this thread)

Thank you so much man! So glad that my visit is inspiring so many of the locals - it truly is a city to behold, but seems also like one that can easily be taken for granted.

Even something as tiny and as seemingly insignificant as the LBJ banner (which I'm sure most drive by each day) is truly a sight to behold. And staring up at Terminal Tower while walking around and noticing a number of architectural differences between buildings downtown and buildings in Australia is gorgeous!

I've been in the miserable city of Pittsburgh for almost 10 years now, and I can assure you something like this would NEVER happen there - EVER.

This is exactly why I always have and always will tell people I'm a Clevelander, born and raised. Reading this thread has me pretty damn proud to be able to say that. So much so that you all have inspired me today to book plans and buy tickets to come home and watch my Cavaliers at the Q next month.

I believe it was LeBron who once said, "I'm Coming Home"

Thanks all - and, Simmy, I hope you have a damn good time tonight. Go Cavs!

That's SO awesome man! I'm just as proud to call myself an "adopted Clevelander" - what an experience!

This thread might be the greatest thread in RCF history. Beats any safari or the LBJ return.

Everything that is right with Cleveland Sports is represented in this thread. It gets lost because we all are whining about the 50 year of losing history, but we are all fans of an amazing group of people. Cleveland sports fans are the greatest no matter where they live.

Simmy, it's awesome you're checking everything out.

Such a bummer that your day in Cleveland is such a cold one. Wish you could've been here earlier in the week when the sun was out. Being around a ton of fresh snow when the suns out is a pretty fun experience when you're not usually around snow.

The streets definitely feel more empty when its cold, plus Cleveland's never really bumpin during the day anyway.

After the game, go over to W25th in Ohio City for dinner and drinks. Tons of good bars and restaurants up and down the street.

E 4th is great too, but it's gonna jam packed after the game.

I think its perfect that his day in Cleveland is so cold.

Welcome to NE OHIO mutha fucker. :chuckle:

I wish I didn't already have plans tonight Simmy, because I would have loved to take you and your girl out for drinks after the game. I'm a 23 year old aspiring DJ myself, so we would have had much to chat about. :chuckle:

Hey buddy, welcome to #TheLand! Dude, if you have snapchat, you better enable GPS location and snapchat people with "TheLand" filter all day! make your friends jealous

Wow is THAT how the Cavs Snapchat account does it? So basically enable GPS and then swipe across until I see it? I'm definitely going to do that.

For those interested, @simmybeats as well on Snap.

Keep your eyes open in there. You never know who'll show up. When we were up for the opener having some dinner, the Cleveland Indians Manager, Terry Francona, popped in for some takeout. He took off on a little red scooter. It was truly hilarious.

I also wanted to add my welcome to the city and have great time man enjoy the game and cheer to keep the streak going

1. Bobbleheads – Various dates throughout the season

Yes, the top spot on the list goes to the bobbleheads. They are continually the best giveaways thanks to their high quality, uniqueness, and overall design. The Indians have been especially good about incorporating varying aspects of players personalities into the designs or putting the players into ridiculous situations. This year’s lineup is particularly intriguing as it features the three best players on the Indians’ current roster, Michael Brantley, Corey Kluber, and Carlos Santana. However, the bobblehead that I’m most looking forward to is for Terry Francona. His bobblehead should be interesting as it will feature the scooter he has used to get to and from Progressive Field over the past two seasons and counting.
