Visiting the Q (from a land down under)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh! And what's the policy on video cameras? I'd like to record parts of the game including player introductions etc so as to remember what it was like to be there in person.
The safest thing to do would be to use your phone I'd say. According to their website, no video recorders allowed. :/

Where are you travelling through and when? I really hope your plans won't be affected!

Oh really? Damn, that sucks. I may just have to go with the phone and then compile that with all the other footage on my camera.

Travelling is my major concern at the moment. We leave Thursday mid-day (Aus time) and arrive in Cleveland Thursday night. I'm just hoping and praying that nothing goes wrong - I've been keeping abreast of the weather from today and it doesn't look good..

Also, Bleacher Report is ready to go!

I am excited for you @CavsSimmy...I think its awesome someone from Australia is excited to go to Cleveland and check out the Cavs in person....we have the best fans in the world and I cannot wait for the playoffs to show the nation

Hey CavsSimmy. Let me know if there's anyway I can deliver you a Plain Dealer newspaper copy honoring LeBron's return back to CLE.

I'll be happy to give you a copy free of charge.

Until i get anything resembling a steady financial situation that allows me to get to the Q I'm going to be living vicariously through you on your trip Simmy.

Thanks @tristan+kyrie=$! Mighty nice of you. I'm extremely honored and proud to be visiting. I've felt like an adopted Clevelander since I was about 11-12 and started listening to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (I'm 24 now) so to be able to experience a city that I've only heard in music and seend in video will be incredibly surreal.

@I-77 NORTH That is amazing! Thank you so much, the kindness of the people on this board really is something special. It's the reason why I can't stop visiting each day. I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency so I'll be around downtown all day Friday and on Saturday morning as well. Is that convenient for you at all? I'll have a pre-paid SIM card when I'm over there but with only a data pack. If you have Viber I could perhaps give you a call or vice verca?

@blommen Haha! Not to worry, it's taken me a good 3-4 years to save up for this trip. With a little hard work and passion, it'll most definitely happen. I'll keep those interested abreast of my travels in my thread in the Off Top part of the forum. Welcome aboard, sir! :)

If you are heading straight into Cleveland, I think you should be okay. We haven't gotten much severe weather and aren't supposed to, but if you have a connecting flight on the east coast then you might have problems. :/

Q security won't allow tablets either. Strictly phones only are allowed. (Or pocketknives, for that matter. I've been refused entry for both...)

To Cavsimmy,a guy you should tweet at is Rcwennes on twitter....he is a marketing guy that deals with events and such and when I won court side seats he took care of my buddy and I as well as the other people...he would be a good guy to try

Thanks @Helium filament, we're flying from Melbourne to LA. And then from LA to Cleveland. That should be okay, I'm assuming?

Thanks @Benway. So my best bet is to take as much footage as possible on my iPhone then I'm assuming? Find it strange how iPhone recording is allowed but they refuse video recorders. I understand the quality difference but still..

Awesome @tristan+kyrie=$ I'll try that most definitely - sounds like a good option.

Update: Just got a follow and a DM from the @Cavs Twitter account asking me to let them know where my seats are and to notify them when I arrive! How can you not love the Internet!? I have my fingers crossed ever so tightly!

Is this your first time in Cleveland and/or at the Q? Just curious.

Thanks @Rob! I can't wait!

@blazenmp Whoops - I kind of derailed the thread, didn't I? Just too uncontrollably overjoyed that I can share this experience with RCF as well. This place has been a blast since I (finally!) decided to join earlier this year and is one of the very reasons I was convinced to make the trip.

It is. I've been to the US on a family trip when I was 15 (I'm now 24) so this will be my first independent travel. Have wanted to visit Cleveland for the better part of 7-8 years though.
