Watching the worst Laker's team of all time

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's just a shame we don't have any more failed coaches for the Lakers to hire when the inevitably fire Byron Scott in a year or two.

Maybe they'll go after Pat Shurmur?

Paul Silas. But I think they have to hire Mike Brown a second time, like we did. That would be the ultimate comedy.

Randle was a guy I was taking a chance on with my fantasy team. Thanks for weakening my bench.

Why did Kobe go for a max contract, what a selfish guy, doesn't care about the team at all,
Learn from Tim Duncan you prick

This is awful. It's not his job to worry about the Lakers cap situation. That's for the front office. If they wanted him to take less they should have actually negotiated. Instead they basically came out with that as their first offer to Kobe and he took it. That's how bad the Lakers front office situation is right now.

This Lakers team MIGHT end up with the worst record in the league. I'm doubting it, because they still have more talent than Philly, but they are in the West so the competition will be tougher.

The Lakers attempted thirteen three-pointers against the Suns. The Suns *made* sixteen threes on thirty-two attempts. Byron Scott is painting his masterpiece.

They are pathetic, it's not that hard scoring 25+ points a game when you take 30 attempts per game :/
but the Lakers only care about the show and Kobe is the show.[/QUOTE]

One thing Laker fans are going to realize is that there are some holdovers from last years team, mainly Xavier Henry and Wesley Johnson, who received the D'Antoni effect and looked a little better last year because of pace and his offensive philosophy.

Last years the Lakers lost over 300 games to injuries. With Nash and Randle out for the year and Nick Young out another 3-4 weeks, they're already well on that pace.

Just looking at the West, it's hard to see many team the Lakers can beat.

Did he break on his last step toward the basket, or when he landed? I couldn't tell.

Boozer's statline from last night:
2-6 4 points
4 rebounds
1 steal
1 assist
8 turnovers

The man had as many turnovers as points and rebounds.

What do the rest of you have the over/under at for Kobe losing his shit then starting a confrontation with and/or choking a teammate out on the court before the end of the season?

I'm giving it 50 games or less

I think a Boozer/Bryant showdown is inevitable. Boozer is softer than Charmin toilet paper.

I watched a good chunk of this game last night (mostly b/c I have Isaiah Thomas on my fantasy team), and Kobe was visibly frustrated once it got out of hand. He has zero chemistry w/ his teammates. It's a really bad situation. I think it probably ends in a career ending injury for Kobe before the All-Star break, but with Byron Scott placing this talent-poor team at a disadvantage every night w/ his hostility to perimeter shooting, a meltdown of some sort before then seems inevitable.

Byron be like "what do you mean? i just drew up a really nice play involving just 2 guys to get a contested 18' jumper, SHOWTIME BABY!"

As a lifelong Laker/Kobe hater it brings me great joy to see them lose. Can't stand Boozer either so they deserve each other. Funny thing is they don't have to tank, they just flat out suck.

I can see Kobe demanding a trade to the Clippers or Knicks by mid season.

I do feel bad for Randle though.

If Kobe keeps walking into Dwight Howard elbows he won't have to worry about playing on that stinkfest that is the lakers.

That's some extra sizzle right there. I like the way you think. Of course, it would've been gratifying to see us crush the Bulls if he was still there too.
