Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He can be effective. Like Jordan could score every time on an easy shot or lob to Zizic if doubled. Jordan is never gonna learn that.

Zizic needs reps. He has to practice that pick n roll coverage. He did alright, but they exploited his foot speed. I think he can play faster. He needs the game to slow down, as soon as he catches rhythm and he just goes he seems very good.

He seems like a slow starter.

He's barely played. He isn't used to game speed. He needs another year of 10 min off the bench. His passing ability is good

Please tell me why you all have such a high opinion of him. I'm not sure he can overcome the slowness relative to everyone else. And I'm aware the Cavs don't really run an offense that looks like it belongs in modern day. My excitement to see him enter the lineup is dwindling...

I Like Zizic's "throw back" game. He's got skilled foot work. He sees the floor. He knows how to box out and pass. He's tall. There's a lot to like there.

But then there are the short comings.

He long but not Ilgauskas long, he's more Varejao long. He's young but his feet are not quick. He gets winded trying to keep up with the current NBA pace. He's strong young man, but pound for pound he's not NBA strong.

Seems like the strength and the conditioning are fixable. But the slow feet are a problem. Varejao with a hook shot is not an NBA player without the Varejao's energy and quick feet.

Anyone else feel like he passed up several good shots from the post yesterday? Seemed hesitant to shoot even when he had the smaller man in him.

He contests shots at the rim with his big body, he can really score, sets great screens, great hands, establishes great post position, can score on putbacks, passes out to the 3 point line really well like his assist to Cedi last night.

Yeah his feet are a little slow, but it seems like he gets better the more minutes he plays the game. To me that says he just needs minutes to adjust to the NBA game.

He was chosen over Zubac to start on the Croatian national league, and Zubac was about to be cut from teh Lakers until he recently started playing well. He can at least be as good as Zubac IMO, but he needs minutes to get used to the NBA, and there is no reason to not see what he has.

His feet are not so slow as to be unplayable. He can develop better conditioning and can probably move a little faster. THe idea that the game should have slowed down for him already is a nonstarter in my opinion. It is just happening for Cedi now, and he is much more seasoned and has gotten way more minutes.

Right now he is dominating younger guys, and getting owned by bigger vets. That is just what you would expect. He is still young, and he needs to get stronger. He is known as a bully, but he doesn't have that NBA strength yet.

I think the biggest problem with Zizic is he doesn't seem to play as hard when he doesn't get the ball. He never gets the ball on the roll where he is very good, and he establishes deep post position regularly against guards and doesn't get the ball.

Personally, I would love to see him with Kevin Love, because he would be able to finish those passes in the paint that TT can't.

You have to look back and see how he did in the spring when TT was out and Zizic finally got regular minutes.

The problem now is that he's not getting regular minutes, so we're only seeing flashes of what he did last spring. Even when he does get into a game, Drew benches him as soon as he makes a mistake.

Bottom line is that he's in a terrible developmental situation, so we're not seeing him develop. And that means it is almost impossible to figure out what he can contribute long-term.

I'd say probably his most aggressive game. He was beating them up inside. Nurkic bothered him at times.

He played a long stretch at the end of the game. He looked tired as hell but looked good.

Very positive strides for Z.

Drew benched TT or he was hurt. Seemed to me he pulled his starters in the 3rd

Free Zizic. He looked quicker tonight. I don't think he is too slow. Needs to get used to game speed

Played well last night... So we could expect the White Wilt getting the quick hook the moment he makes a bad play or DNP-CD the next few games...

On fearthesword they posted that team defense is better with him on the floor. Allowing just 107 a game. He keeps the opposing team from getting layups, but the coaching staff is worried he is gonna get burnt on the pick and roll, but I don't get that because TT and Nance are allowing a lot of layups
