Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Zizic played in the 80's and 90's, he would be a legit 20-10 guy.

That being said, he's not as versatile as Embiid or Davis, but if he ever learns to shoot from the outside? He could easily be as deadly as Embiid, sure.

Brad Daugherty was just under 20-10 and he played in the 80s and 90s. He made annual ASG appearances except when he was hurt.

During Brad's rookie season Mel Turpin would head for the scorer's table and some fans would cheer him. Admit it - you were or would have been one of those fans cheering Dinner Bell Mel (RIP) instead of Brad.

But Zizic BETTER than Brad Daugherty? That's absolutely ridiculous.

Comparing Embiid to Zizic - the only use for that post is to plant it with some beets.

Great 4th quarter by Zizic last night. Made a bunch of crucial plays. I don't remember him being that tough on offensive boards before.

I know some people got more exposed to his game, so are higher on him as a result, but to me it's the complete oppsite as I had been exposed to him much earlier.

I'm starting to cool down on him. He needs to extend his range because he has trouble scoring aggainst guys he can't overpower. He is fairly limited right now with his moves down low. I don't know why he stagnated in that area.

he needs to make some big strides in the off-season for me to consider him our long term starter at C. I do believe he can improve by a lot.

Another thing that bugs me is his body language. He needs to play with better energy.

I would look to trade him and our houston pick to snag Bitadze if at all possible..that doesn't mean I don't like Z, because I do like him a lot, but I'm super high on Bitadze, and Z doesn't have some traits I want from our future C.

I think Zizic is suffering from the lack of designed touches because the team is healthier and Sexton/Cedi have developed to score more.

I do agree he needs to extend his range but the team also lacks well rounded big men to make easy rotations. Love is really the only big man you can pair with Zizic. It simpler to go small and have Zizic/Nance/TT be the only big on the floor if Love isn't in the floor. Really it's just not enough minutes or plays at center to be spreading around to 3 guys.

This kind of goes back to how Nance hasn't really developed his game to be more useful to the team this season. I think alot of us expected Nance to be molded to be very interchangable with Love while on the floor together and in the rotation as his sub. I'm not even sure what Nance brings to the table anymore.

While I think the coaching staff deserves some credit for Sexton's progress and also Osman's growth (and Love certainly plays into both as well), the coaching staff hasn't really helped Zizic as much. I'm not sure why that is. It's understandable that he's less of a focus, but he only needs to improve a few things to at least be a solid starter.

I think a reserve big man in a rotation is a more realistic outlook. Just got benched again and although he had showed some glimpses of talent, there are clear limitations to his game. Keep him on the roster and see if he gets better, but I would not pencil him in as a long term starter at this time .

Lost those games. I think the starting unit works better than with Nance.

As I said a few months ago, I just dont see it with him. Happy to keep him for rest of his rookie contract in hope he becomes something though

He is most probably going to be a rotational big... From what he has shown so far, it's obvious he's no scrub, just doesn't have a high ceiling specially with todays game... It sucks though that the coaching staff only plays him when the team is dwpleted... He needs minutes to develop and with his play he should have at least earned spot minutes

think at best he becomes a rotational big in the 10-15min range. He's just too slow, immobile and doesnt protect the rim to become anything more

Defiantly the best big. His defense is very underrated.

He is a good pairing with Love. I'm hoping they are just sitting Zizic to figure out who they need to trade and who they need to go after in the summer. I think the front office is committed to keeping Love. Zizic and Love are the only big pairing I'd say has worked out well this year. Now it's time to figure out if Nance, TT, or Chriss are worth keeping. I don't think anyone of them are making a case for themselves.

So we know Zizic isn't hurt since he got into yesterday's game in garbage time. I think in today's NBA Zizic ends up being a 24-28 minute player who splits his games starting and coming off the bench based on matchups. No point to playing more than that role until he is off his rookie contract. Over playing a slower 7 footer who doesn't fall into the elite category, usually just ends up in a bad overpaid contract.

At this point the front office needs to get more stretch 4s or 5s and get rid of alot of the depth at center. We don't have enough bigs that can be paired with each other right now. Love and Zizic might be our best pairing while Love can be paired with any of our other bigs. Any combination of Zizic, TT, Chriss, and/or Nance just doesn't work. If we don't move Henson in the summer, he just adds to the problem next year.
