LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not sure what to make of this quote:

"As the year goes on we'll be able to start making more plays offensively. I'll start getting to a point where I can start getting back above the rim. I hope so."

The I hope so piece, not sure how to interpret that..
Hoping his back heals up. Better to put the caveat than make a guarantee.

Gotta watch how he said it. It was a pretty sarcastic response all around, kind of rolled his eyes as he said "hopefully" (Not I hope so)

I get the feeling that we're spoiled (again) with the gift of LeBron James.

Only 5 games in and now he's one of 2 guys (the other being Ron Harper in his very short 1989-90 season) to average (despite playing at least 5 games) 20+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ assists. He already did that 7 times in season's past.

And with the unmentioned note that the season is too young to really rate players, I have to say that just having him makes a difference.

Appreciate it... you goddamn @$$#0!&$!!! :chuckle:

I remember people scoffed at that quote when he said it. But, if you sit back and think about it it's absolutely true. He makes the game look so incredibly easy you almost take it for granted.

The guy will have what appears to be an off night and drop 25 / 7 / 7 and the whole time you were thinking he had a horrible night.

There's no doubt in my mind that he's still not playing healthy or anywhere near his physical capacity. His emphasis on "I'm in the team" when asked if he's playing hurt validates that.

If he's hurt, that's fine. I'm sure none of us have a problem with hearing him say that. To be honest, I'd rather hear him say what he's doing to get his body back to elite fitness as opposed to beating around the bush when quizzed on his back and his relating performances.

It's certainly what happens when you set the bar so high - when you are consistantly delivering phenomenal plays, fans and observers develop an expectancy - a demand for this sort of high level performance on a daily basis. FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi is going through a similar thing at the moment. While he's not looking like his brilliant self and isn't showing flashes of explosiveness (much like LeBron), he's leading the league in assists and impacting the game in other meaningful ways.

It certainly goes to show that even the best of them have to continue to alter their game and their approach in order to maintain a level of performance that is expected of them.

I thought LeBron looked much better Friday night than he did Monday in Portland. I'd like to see his minutes come down, but they'll probably need him for somewhere around forty tonight. I think it was Windhorst who said that we'll know a lot more about this team when they have a home stand against weaker teams in early December. The same should hold true for LeBron.

I'm not panicking, but, thus far, it's been a bit of a comedown to see LeBron struggling physically.

Of course we're spoiled, this guy is superman so it makes you greedy. But the truth is that the way the rest of the team is playing we sort of need Lebron to be superman in order to win consistently.

Still got it....

40 minutes again. NOt gonna cut it. I know Waiters and Delly were out but we're gonna have to start stealing minutes with James Jones or something.

Yeah, that and the defense probably the bad things from tonight. I think the defense is going to be bad every night. Minutes could be managed way better.

LeBrawn is back. Hopefully, he'll play a bit closer around the rim and increases his FG%.
