I would advise against expecting the world at this point. There are few points in the NBA's lifespan that one should expect the championship mat after not having any real success. The only one I can think of that it worked out so well was when the Sixers went 'fo, 'fo, 'fo after acquiring Moses Malone. Additionally, the Sixers in '65 weren't able to get the job done, nor did the Lakers in '69, nor the Celtics in '73, a certain player broke his foot in '76, the Celtics with Bird in '80, the Phoenix Suns and Knicks in '93, the Spurs in '95, the Jazz in '98, the Heat in '99, the Lakers in '04, the Mavs in 2006, a certain lucked into the Finals in 2007, and a certain team lost due to circumstances (2009 and 2010), the Heat in 2011 and 2014.
If there's one thing I learned from high expectations, it's that you shouldn't have any before you reach the promised land. While we might be able to pull it off this time, you shouldn't expect too much before the book is written.
I'm grateful for what we received, but it's not to the promised land yet. Let's pray we can do it.
