LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The number change was also to cover up the collusion.

Do people honestly still believe that Bosh rumor? LeBron, Wade, and Bosh very clearly planned to play in Miami years before they actually signed there. Why else would they have signed the identical three year extensions instead of max deals while Miami conveniently cleared their books entirely?
He also tried to recruit Ron Artest in 09 and Ray Allen and Michael Redd in 05. It didn't work and they got Larry Hughes instead.

As for the contract, the reason was so they could get another lucrative contract before the CBA expired. Look up any article from those deals and you'll see that was the reason, nothing more. Why did Pat Riley gut his roster? Because that team was going nowhere. The Rockets made room for Chris Bosh this summer and he didn't go there even though it seemed like a lock. Not everything is how you perceive it to be.

Your not saying LBJ recruited when he was here before right?
If so, you couldn't be farther from the truth.

I'm not saying he was a good or effective recruiter, but he definitely tried. Any major free agent considering the Cavs, LeBron is mentioned as trying to recruit. He didn't recruit role players like he does now because I don't think he knew what the team needed to win. He thought the team needed a big name player to go to Cleveland, but nobody wanted to go there. His contract situation certainly didn't help his recruiting efforts, that's for sure.

Oh look, Lebron's back but people still want to talk about the devious past...

...let it go.

For the people saying that LeBron was trying hard to recruit Michael Redd I could've sworn Redd said LeBron wasn't really enthusiastic about recruiting him while he was visiting Cleveland whether it was not getting him at the airport or whatever. Same thing with Artest for that matter. I personally believe that this whole LeBron was recruiting till the day of the decision is more or less a PR move. I'd like to believe that LeBron never wanted to leave here but I think saying that he was recruiting hard his whole time here is revisionist history. We landed Larry Hughes because we swung and miss on Ray Allen, Michael Redd, and Ferry was too much of a moron to trade for Joe Johnson. Larry Hughes is easily one of the worst Cleveland Cavaliers of all time (per $).

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – LeBron James said his nagging sore back has "been kind of iffy" but hasn't limited him so far in training camp.

"It's come and go," James said following the Cavaliers' practice on Tuesday. "From the start of camp it's been kind of iffy. I'm doing everything to get it back, and I'm used to it, at the start of camp just getting back into basketball shape.

"It kind of comes and goes, but I've been able to practice and go full go every day without limitations, and that's a good sign."

James battled a sore back last season with the Miami Heat. In the early days of Cleveland's training camp, James has been seen heading to the trainer's room for additional work, following a post-practice shooting drill or two.

The Cavaliers have a second practice Tuesday night, and coach David Blatt indicated that some "veteran players" would sit out. The team has an intrasquad scrimmage Wednesday night at The Q.

"We see a couple guys that might be at that point where they could be liable to that kind of little injury and we don't want that to happen," said Blatt, who declined to name which players might sit.

Does LeBron's "iffy" back worry you?
"We have veteran players who know very well how to prepare themselves," Blatt said. "We obviously have to direct them and help them, but we don't want to come to day one without guys being ready to play."

Later, a source said the Cavaliers are not concerned about anything injury related with James.

James was asked if he would practice Tuesday night and he said "I don't know. I don't know what coach Blatt has on his sheet in his office over there.

"Right now I feel good," James said. "I don't know how much I'm gonna go as far as contact, I've been going pretty hard the last few days, depends on how my body feels."

James engaged in an intense, post-practice three-point drill with Kyrie Irving and seemed to move without limitation.

Hopefully this keeps him out of the preseason.

Bobcat your new here, please don't try to spin the past with someone who has followed every fn move this team has made over the last 3 decades, k?

Lebron never recruited when he was here before, despite what you think or what you have heard.

setting himself up so he wont have to spoil the reunion, clever...

I'm not sure if this was brought up anywhere, so please guide me if so, but....

Was LBJ wearing 2 hamas necklaces at training camp? Warding off the evil eye?

That's a great highlight montage!

Throwback: Lebron James 2009 Playoffs East Finals Series Highlights vs Orlando Magic (HD 720)

I know that people here like Ben have plenty of connections. However, I can tell you that the idea that LeBron was gone before the end of the season is pretty much false.

My chain of info goes me --> media friend close to Sean Miller --> who is close with Calipari --> who is tight with World Wide Wes.

Now obviously there are things that get lost in communication when it travels from person to person, but very, VERY little information given to me was inaccurate or false and every single solitary thing i was told about LeBron turned out true.

From the possibility of him leaving, to Miami being a team to watch when free agency hit, to him never giving the Knicks any real consideration, to him deciding on Miami a couple of days before that stupid south beach party was booked, to him not really enjoying the Miami organization, to his potential return to Cleveland all the way to the letter. Nothing they told me about LeBron has ever been proven false.

From what I was told, LeBron never felt like he had to recruit. He felt like his presence was enough and that the front office was there for a reason. He also wasn't dead set on going to Miami like many here assume.

The change to six had absolutely nothing to do with Riley. He requested the change in the chance he stayed in Cleveland. Had he been dead set on leaving, there was no reason for him to request the number change.

Also, if Miami was his destination at the beginning of the off season or prior, his free agency wouldn't have been dragged out as long as it did.

One thing was certain: he wanted to play with Wade and Bosh. But, from what I heard, LeBron never thought he'd be the one following others around. He was the best of the three, despite Wade owning a ring, and thought they would be more willing to go to Cleveland.

When Bosh agreed with the Heat, LeBron felt like he was backed into a corner in a sense. So, he made the decision to bolt.

Was he thinking about leaving before the first decision? Absolutely. Was Miami kissing his ass for the year leading up? Yes. Did he know Miami was a place he MAY want to play? Yes. But was Miami the only possible destination for LeBron in his own mind? No. Not at all.
