Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
he had been doing a lot of low key things with school kids

Found this from Jason la Confora in December:

I just hate the lazy reporting that its domestic violence or he is a woman hitter. Its like they watched a different video than me and looked nothing up.

I think the guy is a borderline alcoholic with anger issues, which is why that's the counseling he is getting. I hope for his sake he is sincere, he has a great future ahead of him still if he takes this seriously.

I really would rather we had just not dirtied our hands with this, but I’m not going to freak out. If Hunt can move forward and do good things for himself, the community, and the Browns, a lot of good can come of it. Dude just needs to get his anger and alcohol issues under control at all costs.

Yeah. I’ve been kind if afraid to just say this outright, but I believe that’s where Hunt’s issues indeed lie. Frankly, I don’t diffrentiate a ton between who the violence is against, though. Violence is bad, period. So I’m different from a lot of people in that respect and would probably be ridiculed for such views in many corners of the interwebz.

That information was absolutely, positively swept under a rug in favor of the narrative that Hunt isn't being remorseful.

It's a catch-22. I've heard a few people asking for "receipts" about what he's doing. I bet those same folks would be saying it's all contrived if he let you know about it loudly.

Not necessarily. That could just as easily be due to Hunt not wanting to have a full blown #redemption campaign, something I think a lot people would rightfully feel would be a little tasteless.

In the same way Josh Gordon could have been an incredible athlete had he been able to keep his own demons out? (HOF-level talent....) I believe that Kareem Hunt is being presented a similar opportunity.

A top 3-4 RB in the league just happened to land with a team that is looking to go on an upswing. A team that is just now starting to become media darlings with a QB that should have been ROTY.

I just wish we were not ones making this gamble. Feels like we're still far too young to risk this backfiring.

Ball is in his court though. If the guy wants to go Lawrence Phillips and waste every ones time? I imagine Dorsey won't hesitate to get rid of him.

One hopes Gordon will serve as a very tangible and timely example and warning for Hunt.

Perhaps it can be Gordon's last, and most important, service to the Browns.

I've always kind-of thought that it was a bit tasteless to flaunt any type of redemption, personally. That said, if the media (especially the women within it) are asking for receipts, what's the choice? You can either acquiesce to them and bring the receipts out, if there are any, but that will just bring the "this is contrived" group out of the woodwork.

Perhaps, taking action personally now and just briefly covering those efforts later-on in totality will work for Hunt. It's not an easy situation to navigate; it probably shouldn't be, either.

Where did Mary Kay Cabot learn how to write? Who’s the sports editor at the Plain Dealer? Try to read the following paragraph without cringing:

Mary Kay Cabot said:
A devout Catholic, Dorsey believes in redemption and second chances. He believes he can look into the eyes of a player and see his soul. The many times he’s looked into Hunt’s eyes since he began to scout him in 2016 for the Chiefs, he’s seen a good man and not the one who was captured on video almost a year ago shoving and kicking a woman in a hallway at the Metropolitan at The 9 in downtown Cleveland.

Exactly how I feel. I'll add that I hope they have a much shorter leash with Hunt than Gordon.

From what Dorsey said it sounds like he'll be cut if he fucks up again, as he should be. And honestly, if he fucks up again he may have a problem finding another job, as it shows he learned nothing from the first time.

Think they’ll appeal based on “time-served” since he’s been on the exempt list since November?
