Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Is spanking abuse?

I just don’t think of anything like belt/spanking/switch as abuse. I think it’s correcting bad behavior and it isn’t necessarily the best way, but I don’t agree. Shrugs.

It depends. Are you hitting them so hard that you break the skin or leave cuts? If so, it is 100% abuse. See: the Adrian Peterson situation. He left cuts all over his kid's legs, butt, and even scrotum. That is seriously fucked up. Tell me whether you'd rather have your arm broken or be beaten so hard with a stick that your scrotum ruptures. I'd pick door number one.

If you're using it to teach them a lesson occasionally and hitting them just hard enough to send a message but not hard enough to cause actual physical damage, then no, it's probably not abuse.

And again, it should be something that is done occasionally, for particularly serious fuck-ups. It's not something you should be doing for minor transgressions. Like, if the kid steals a cookie before dinner time, you probably shouldn't beat the fuck out of them. If they steal money from your wallet, then maybe a spanking is in order.

I see it too--both their jerseys end in 7. :chuckle:

That's about all I see in common between the two. I don't see this comparison at all. Hunt is closer to someone like a Devonta Freeman for me. Both little guys that run with power.

Freeman has better patience--especially in letting a zone blocking scheme set up in front of him. Freeman also has better acceleration.

Hunt has better balance and shiftiness.

I think all three of them suck

I think the debate is going to far.

Yes its fucked up what AP did, but he grew up in that culture. That doesn't make it right, but when comparing to what Hill did and his attitude he did nothing wrong. I think AP can be rehabilitated and taught it was wrong, he did it because that is what his parents did to him, Hill is just an out of control asshole.

IMO, AP deserves a 2nd chance, I have a harder time forgiving hill, who showed no remorse, but will get a 2nd chance too because that is what the league does.

AP literally admitted that he still beats his kid with a belt. He hasn't been rehabilitated, nor has he ever expressed any desire to be rehabilitated. People just moved on to the next offender and stopped caring about him.

I just honestly can't imagine beating a kid until they have cuts over their lower and upper legs, butt, and even scrotum. I can't imagine beating my own kid until it cuts them at all. I've felt absurdly bad the handful of times I've backhanded one of my dogs for doing something really stupid and they give you that stricken look.

if you guys want to talk about beating children take it to another tread

I never understood this mentality of “threads need to stay exactly on topic all the time”.

If you did that, each thread would be 6 pages and they’d have updates every 30 days. In your every day life do you guys stay exactly on topic all the time? If so, I feel bad for your friends. What conversationalists. :bad:

You want it back on topic? Change the subject or talk to someone else in the thread while everyone else is talking about something they’re all clearly interested in.

It was a civil, somewhat on topic conversation.

How about just let the conversation run its course, change the subject or go to another thread til its done?

it was very much civil, but this isnt the place for posters to talk about how they were raised and if they spank their children or not.

and the conversation ran its course, Keys brought things back in line, and posters continued on. Which is when i posted what i did. If they want to continue the conversation i have no problem with that, but not in this thread

If we don't have to stay directly on topic, then I'd like to return discussion to @David. spanking his meat

All of these reactions are the majority of the boards reaction to softball gloves getting injected into a Kareem Hunt topic.
