Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't remember anyone having a problem with Ryan Tucker when he was here, and he helped beat and pummel a kid into permanent brain damage when he was at TCU. To me that's worse than what Kareem Hunt did.

"Super Bowl" is trending on Twitter in Cleveland right now....

Low risk/high reward/PR hit

I'm never disappointed in these type of signings, because young adults/people in general should get another chance. Life is all about second chances!
He assaulted a woman, and this was his second chance, because he had messed up like this previously.

He is good at his job... that's all this is about. It is not about giving him another chance or anything of the sort. Dorsey thinks Kareem Hunt can help him fulfill his fiduciary duty to the Haslems.

What he did was very wrong. This is a low risk/ high reward deal. If you can redeem the person, you have a great backfield with him and Chubb. Move Duke to slot receiver, or possibly trade him on draft day.

Is the part about the racial slurs verified, or is that just what Kareem Hunt claimed? If it's the latter I'm not necessarily going to take his word for it.

Joe Mixon decked a girl clear in the head, how many games did he get? He's still running for the Bengals. Kareem deserves another shot

Tyreek Hill punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and he's considered a young star in the league. The NFL doesn't care as long as you do it before you get into their league. Unless it's weed, then you're fucked.

Ahh, the outrage stage.

When he gets back on the field playing at a high level, his past will be forgotten.

Rinse & repeat. This is the NFL. Ray Lewis murdered a guy and played for 20 years. Joe Mixon was drafted and started day one. Etc.

In the NFL, if you are good enough to be on the field, you will be on the field.

I'm curious as to how the Browns will handle the inevitable competition between Chubb & Hunt for carries. Both are guys that should be getting 15+ a game but that is unrealistic for teammates in this era of the NFL.

I like the tweet referencing how Freddie ran plenty of 2 and 3 RB formations. That is a great point. So they may both be on the field plenty but touches are likely going to decrease for both.

There's a bridge between "redeemable" and "getting paid 7 figures to play football right away".

I thought Michael Vick was redeemable. He spent a year and a half in jail, and was able to go back to playing. He paid his debt, then was able to go back to work.

Now, maybe you're onto something and there is ample evidence that he's been reformed. But it seems really quick for him all of a sudden to be forgiven.

It's likely he won't play this year.....if I'm guessing. For a guy taken later in the draft, he hasn't made a ton of money, even less if he wasn't responsible with it.

Salary databases say Hunt has earned $1.6 million for his career.....he hasn't made money since the incident and won't make money until he is re-instated. Sure, Vick went to jail.....he also made what? $60 mil prior to that? And then made another $60 mil after. If money is the hangup here, I'm not sure what debt Vick truly paid?

At this point, Hunt has 1 of 2 paths.......either (1) he is a model citizen, he's truly sorry and he doesn't fuck up or (2) he does something, even minor, that underscores he is not........ i.e. bar fight, DUI, whatever. and his career is probably over. Guess we'll see.

The good news is this also limits Nick Chubb's carries, too.

Chronologically, this was actually the first (known) Hunt altercation of the calendar year, taking place in the hours after the Chiefs’ Jan. 6 playoff loss to the Titans. A month later, Hunt attacked a woman in video that is now public, resulting in his being placed on the Commissioner Exempt List.

There is also a third incident, from June, that the NFL is investigating, in which the 23-year-old is accused of punching a man in the face at an Ohio resort.

3 incidents in a year.

Ah. Couple of club beefs and the big issue. I still think he discovered cocaine; it's been a wild year since PIB.

We aren't going to have Hunt for half a year, no need to decide anything until next year
