Kevin Love stays classy about it:

''The people of Minnesota were great, the fans were great, they showed up, win, lose or draw, and I really developed a lot of relationships all the way down through the organization,'' he said. ''It was a great six years, and I enjoyed my time, and I can't say enough good things about it.''

I totally expect him to drop fifty on Minnesota the first time we play them, though. :chuckle:

Wasn't the presser before these moronic comments from Minnesota's owner came out?

Regardless, I'm sure he wants to stick it to that douche.

Best hauls ever?
Break it down..they got a former # 1 pick in Bennett, who may be just a role player..
Wiggins..huge ?????? mark..we don't know what this kid will be.
Thad Young..good pickup.
Lets put this way..everyone wants to see what the Cavs will do ..well these other players for the TWolves have a lot to live up to.
Just because they were # 1 picks doesn't make them superstars.
Of course Taylor is bitter...

"I think Kevin, his offensive skills got better than I think we estimated. The only thing that I still have a question mark about will be his health. I had that concern then, I still have that concern and I think Cleveland should have that concern, too," Taylor said. "If they sign him to a five-year contract like they're thinking about, I mean that's a big contract in a guy that's had sometimes where he's missed games."

I understand why people say he is an injury concern but I am not so sure that is the case. Outside of the season where Kevin Love broke his hand twice and missed all but 18 games, he has been relatively durable. Ignoring that year, Kevin Love has played in 346 out of 410 games or 84% of the games throughout a 5 year stretch. Can a player that has a freak injury and misses significant time in a single season be considered injury prone? I am not so sure. By comparison, calculating in the same way (removing the 2012-2013 season), Chris Bosh has played in 16 more games than Kevin Love (360 out of 410 or 88% rounding up).

It looks to me as if Kevin Love is a player that had a freak injury happen and missed one season of his career as a result. Coming back from that injury he played 77 games last year, which is fine by me.

Secondly this: Still, if he could do it all over again, Taylor said he would have signed Love to the five-year maximum contract in 2012. That way Love would have three seasons left on his contract and the team's outlook would be considerably different. With the benefit of hindsight, it appears safe to say the contract was a mistake. Love made it known that he wanted out and would exercise the opt-out clause that would make him a free agent following this season. So the Wolves once again have hit the reset button.

So, the Cavs should be weary of signing him to a 5 year deal, but the Timberwolves admit to making a mistake when insulting him with a 4 year offer so that they could offer the max to...wait for iiiiiiiiiiiiit....Ricky Rubio? It's a contradictory and ill informed statement. This entire interview sounds like sour grapes from an incompetent owner that can't hold onto stars because of his repeated inability to surround them with even a modicum of talent.

I am sure Kevin Love is going to take the high road when asked to comment about this interview, but I would be lying if I didn't think he was going to drop 50 on the TWolves every opportunity he gets.

(Sorry for not quoting from Douglar's post, I am new to the machinations of this forum)

I don't have a huge problem with it. If a paid NBA talking head said the same things, it wouldn't raises any eyebrows. Obviously, being the owner changes makes it a different comparison, but nothing he said was too bad.

Everybody has said, right or wrong, he's a "bad defender". I disagree that Love will receive a lot of blame for losses, but I can't say that's an unrealistic opinion. The "foul trouble" comment was stupid just because it is factually incorrect, but does anyone really care, big picture, about foul rate.

I will say that regretting not signing him to a 5 year deal, then saying the Cavs shouldn't sign him to a 5 year reeks of stupidity.

There aren't any draws in basketball. His reference to a fictitious situation reveals that he didn't really mean what he said.

From our perspective, this couldn't be going any better.

What I mean by that is we just got one of the top players in the entire league, in his prime and he is INCREDIBLY motivated. Love is going to have a giant chip on his shoulder. He wants to shove it up Taylor's ass....maybe even more so now.

Kevin can be nice and say he thought they had a good relationship but I really think that is him taking the high road. This is the same owner that offered him a 4 year extension, instead of 5, after he averaged 20 and 15 at 22 years old.

I also will back Dan in this just isn't the same situation. To me, this comes off as even more bitter because Taylor actually got a really nice trade out of it. He received two #1 overall picks and a quality young PF, Dan was overreacting to losing a player for nothing. The situations couldn't be any different IMO.

Can't wait to play Minnesota. I'd Love to see Kevin drop 50 on them.......but even more fitting would be seeing him only have to go for 15 and 15 and sit out the last 20 minutes of the game because we're waxing them so bad. :chuckle:

If you are Minnesota fan when we come into town, would you boo Love, or cheer for him?

Minnesotans are very empathic of his situation. They also really don't care about or for the Timberwolves organization.

If it's not the Twins, Vikings, Gophers, or shit even the Lynx you'll be hard pressed to get any real emotional reaction from them.

I expect them to cheer.

Why should they boo? The team received a pretty good set of young players in exchange for him.

He's had nice things to say about the city and the fans and he stayed out of the media as the trade was happening.

The team decided not to extend him 5 years and ultimately put themselves in this situation this summer.

Love played there 7 seasons and it was, for the most part, a disaster the whole time. It was time for him to move on.

He gave them plenty of time to make something happen and they couldn't get anything going.
