I have to be honest, I was against this move.
I think wiggins will be great, how do you feel about it? I mean I didnt look at the all last season, but I think you miss an amazing athlete at defense / offense.
ofc Love is amazing, but I dunno, its just throw all the future away... anyway I hope it will be best move for Blatt and for youre team.

How is trading for a 25-year-old PF who is widely regarded as the best at his position "throwing the future away"?

Not trying to call you out in particular but I am so sick and tired of seeing this argument from the naysayers. Irving is 22. Waiters is 22. Thompson is 23. Dellavedova is 23. Love is 25. Hell, LeBron's not even 30 yet.

How exactly did they throw the future away, again?

Not sure where to put this, soooo...

Anyone think that Lebron is going to be holding any offseason private team workouts? I thought I remember this happening in the past, but don't know if it as been a regular occurrence or not. I would think he would want to start the process of getting familiar with all the new guys before any kind of required team camp would be scheduled.

The Cavs traded Wiggins for Love, not LeBron for Love. Wiggins may or may not live up to his hype, but I'm sure he'll never be as good as KD, Kobe, let alone LeBron. I'd trade any wings in league [not named, LeBron, Durant, prime Kobe, Prime Wade] for Kevin Love. I feel like Love is just as valuable as Carmelo Anthony. Wiggins will definitely be a great athletic defender, but he may or may never be able to dominate on the offensive end to live up to his hype. If he is the next Paul George, then I don't feel all that bad about trading him for KL. Cavs traded a potential 10-15 player for a real top 10-15 player. Wiggins is a raw talent. I wouldn't be surprised if Exum, Parker, etc all turn out to be better than him since they look more polished as basketball players.

People are pretty conservative with how they rate kevin love. Production wise he is the third best player in the nba and he has been doing this for years. Top 10-15 is way too conservative, top 5 is much more like it.

With his defensive issues, though, I think 7-10 is more like it...

Totally overblown, outside of Lebron James and Kevin Durant you will have an extremely difficult time finding anybody that is clearly better than him. It has been like that his entire career. People second guessing him, even his former organization, which is why we ended up with him in the first place.

7-10 is still damn good...

I think something that gets lost in all of this is you didn't want Love to play defense if you're Minnesota. Yeah, Kevin, we need you to be the focus of our offense, and we want you out there challenging every shot.

Well, he drew two quick fouls, now what do we do?

Here he won't be the isolated focus of the offense. He defends and draws a foul or two, who cares, lebron and kyrie are still on the court.

Really, the same could be said of Kyrie.

If you're supposed to be the focal point of your team's offense, you can't go all out on d, grab a few fouls, and ride the pine.

Love was probably specifically told not to play d to stay on the floor.

It's not "throwing the future away" when the guy you're trading for is only 25, you still have 4 rotation players that are 22/23 years old, and you still have assets galore to keep improving your team going forward..

We're in much better shape than either Miami or Boston was in when they created their Big 3's. It's amazing to think of what kind of dynasty we can make here. So amazing it's still hard for me to believe this is Cleveland.. :chuckle:

Not to mention the average age of our non-Varejao starters is 24.5 right now. We're not exactly an old team. Some of our role-players are old, but most of our core guys are in their early or mid twenties.
