What's sad (and awesome right now, obviously) is that our entire current starting five probably contains guys who will end up all being in the top ten to fifteen players in Cavs history. :chuckle:
I already assume Kyrie will have a firm stronghold on #3 by the time his career is over... (or #2 depending on how long Love is here)

Kyrie may have the edge on Love too if he's here his entire career.

with love, kyrie and jones we have three 3pt shootout champions on one team. first team in nba history....if allen signs here, thats 4 ....crazy

Tristan is an interesting example of the difference in perception that can exist between the same player on a great team and a bad one. You routinely get 8 pts. and 10 rebounds on this team while playing some defense and you become a key component of a title run. Do that on a team that is bad and everyone wants to replace you because the team wants more scoring from that spot on the floor.
Great point lol

Just last year TT was a bust pick who should be traded. Now that our fortunes have gotten better he's one of the best role players in the league and should be paid top dollar.

Perception is a bitch sometimes ain't it

Throw in everything the Cavs gave to get Love and I still view it as a steal. The dude is a stud.
Once the team jell I don't see how anyone in the East can deal with them. Lebron and Love on the same team is just an unfair combination. If Kyrie plays the way we hope and expect they will be impossible.

I think the whole defense talk is blown out of proportion. No one will get enough stops or crucial stops against this squad once they figure out Blatt's system. If they are adequate on defense they will be more than just fine.

The two are unrelated though. He is what he always has been talent wise, and that is of a role player. The "bust pick" is more to do with his draft position than his relative contribution to a team.

The best thing about David Blatt's defensive systems is he will adjust it as necessary. So if a defense isn't working against a particular team, he won't hesitate to try something else. Sometimes in the middle of a game.

Huge change from Mike Brown.

Which is bullshit in itself. Each draft pick should be judged by the value of the individual draft, not within its historical output. Out of all the 2011 draft picks, Tristan has the 8th most win shares thus far (behind Kawhi, Faried, Parsons, Thomas, Kyrie, Butler, and Klay Thompson). I mean for Christ's sake, Tristan is 10x the player the #2 pick in that draft is and has outperformed the #3 pick as well.

Honestly, Tristan being BFFs with LeBron alone is probably enough to justify that pick in hindsight. :chuckle:

I heard, Rich Paul being TT agent, may have had something to do with the pick as well.

Ignore Lyst. His comments leading up to the LeBron return were laughingly incorrect in every way.

This classic from July 10--"I'm sorry but you are wrong. Anyone pro Lebron coming back is gullible. He was never coming here, I bet never even considering it one bit. But you let all of this twitter BS make you think it was a possibility if not a probability." http://realcavsfans.com/community/index.php?threads/the-lebron-safari-2014™.37380/page-1118#post-1918224

He sought a reaction here and he got it. I fully expect his track record of being wrong to continue.

I hope I'm wrong all of the time. I'm born and raised in Cleveland since birth, and pessimistic as fuck about the past 27 years of let downs in every sports team i've watched. The Cavs are my number 1 and I still can't even believe we have Lebron back, in shock and denial still. I'm so used to getting let down I mentally prepare myself for anything that can happen and no longer go into anything optimistic anymore, regardless of how great our teams look. Because the fact is we have NEVER pulled through in my life. I'm not afraid to be the bad guy and to look at the other side of life. So please, God, keep proving me wrong.

If this is coming from me... WTF?? and that is saying something. I get it sports is a big deal to you but man get a grip.

We've got Love, Love, Love, Love, crazy Love....

For any of you who know some Van Morrison...

Kevin Love is probably the best fit at the PF position for this team that could be found in the NBA. His combination of the ability to shoot, score in the post, rebound and pass the ball can't be duplicated.

If TT can be that strong big that rebounds and hustles he's going to get paid. This team doesn't require him to be a scorer but he'll probably put up 8-10 from put back or easy hoops from being the 4th or 5th option on the court.

On a side note is it possible that our big 3's scoring numbers don't go down much individually? The reason I ask is that we're going to play more uptempo it seems which ultimately leads to more scoring opportunities and increased efficiency. From an efficiency standpoint, Kyrie and Love in particular should get better looks because they're not the focal point of the teams offense anymore. Lebron may benefit from better floor spacing but when you're the best player on the floor you're still going to get a lot of the defenses attention.
