Kevin Love is probably the best fit at the PF position for this team that could be found in the NBA. His combination of the ability to shoot, score in the post, rebound and pass the ball can't be duplicated.

If TT can be that strong big that rebounds and hustles he's going to get paid. This team doesn't require him to be a scorer but he'll probably put up 8-10 from put back or easy hoops from being the 4th or 5th option on the court.

On a side note is it possible that our big 3's scoring numbers don't go down much individually? The reason I ask is that we're going to play more uptempo it seems which ultimately leads to more scoring opportunities and increased efficiency. From an efficiency standpoint, Kyrie and Love in particular should get better looks because they're not the focal point of the teams offense anymore. Lebron may benefit from better floor spacing but when you're the best player on the floor you're still going to get a lot of the defenses attention.

I do believe the scoring numbers will go down more than you think because LeBron, Love and Kyrie will have fewer 30+ point games because of the other options and for the same reason they will have more games of 10-15 points. Minnesota really couldn't win if Love scored 12 points. Here, Cleveland may win a game by 25 points with Love doing that.

Well, consider the quality of the shots that Kevin will have now.

I don't doubt that his scoring average might dip a little, but his effective FG% is going to rise, dramatically I believe.

He's not going to be shooting the same volume of shots, but the shots he's going to get by playing with LeBron, they're going to be significantly easier shots, in rhythm.

James puts that ball right into the shooter's pocket.

Whatever negative or doubtful I said about Kevin Love in the past... SCRAP IT. I'm a fool. Kevin Love will be worth every bit of that trade and then some. He will thrive in Cleveland. I can't believe it. To think that kind of production will be coming from the PF position and people will be able to play to their strengths (including Love's own).

I've been impressed with his ability to drive.

Going back, I felt I had a good grasp on his passing and shooting ability and how well that likely would mesh with Lebron. What's been a pleasant surprise is that he's more then willing if the defender has a good close out to put the ball on the deck. From what I've seen he almost always gets fouled when this happens so I don't how well he'd do say if the best shot is a pull up jumper at that point but with his touch and passing ability I'm sure he'll make the defense pay by trying to take away the 3 point line aggressively

I don't. Love takes too many threes to shoot over 50% from the field.

I mean he shot 45.7% from the field over all last year, and that was when he was the focal point of the offense on a team that wasn't exactly loaded with offensive talent. Not to mention he attempted over 500 3's, hitting on almost 38% of them.

I think things are going to open up a lot more for him this year. I definitely wouldn't count out 50% shooting, and I wouldn't count on him taking 500 3's again this year either.

If he hits at a 40% or better rate this year, I think he might shoot more 3s here than with the Wolves.

If the preseason is any judge, it appears that the Cavs are going to line up 3 or 4 shooters near the arc and force the defender to either match up at the perimeter which will open spaces for drives, or drop off and allow his man to back up into a wide open 3 point shot. There are going to be some games where the onslaught of points will be frightening.

Really need to be looking at effective FG% or TS%, instead of straight FG% here.

Last year, Love shot 59% TS% (average PF shoots about 54%). He shot 52.4% eFG% (average PF shoots 49.4%).

If he could increase his TS% to, say, 62%, which would be a significant jump, he would be in contention for the highest TS% in the league among volume shooters. Last year, only Durant (63.5) and LeBron (64.9) were better among players who shot a lot.

It'll also be worth monitoring the number of shots he gets, and shot mix. Last year he got 24+ per 48 minutes, more than 1/3 of which were 3s.

If he plays like he's played first two games I give him 50% shooting for sure

I think he can due to the extra looks he will get now. A player of his quailty should only get a higher %.

I second this. I feel like his misses from the arc will be balanced out by his easy looks inside. Can see him really doing serious damage in the TS% category as well.
