(this is probably a stupid idea on my part) If J.R. doesn't want to start (with Wade already starting and Thomas coming back eventually)... why not try Korver?

If his shot still hasn't left him by now, he can open the floor even more with Wade/LeBron drives to pair with Crowder/Love open spacing.

And still allows us to maximize the backup units without taking anything away.

The only thing we would be worried about is if he becomes the next Dunleavy?

Because LBJ/Crowder/Love/JR is an incredible core, capable of scoring, rebounding, and defending, and it should get as much time as possible.

Those 4 players should start and end games.

I think off the bench is where he belongs at his age and defensive ability. I have always wanted JR starting.

I’m guessing because jr is mentally fragile and benching him could ruin him forever. And he’s getting paid to much to ruin him at this point in the season.

Also there is a lot of money locked up with JR. No one would take him on with his contract. The coaching staff have to give him every opportunity to get on track. If JR is playing well, Korver becomes a tradable asset since he is on a team friendly deal, is a known good team guy, and is constantly working on his shooting.

Korver has been our only player listed as a guard that is actually playing well. He’s almost 37.... What is jrs excuse?

I feel like we need to start bringing in Korver earlier off the bench. Give him first qtr minutes while LeBron is still on the court and make sure that we establish better spacing and 3PT threat earlier in the game. He looked out of place in the first game or two, but he has been consistent since and obviously with JR and to a lesser extent Love and Crowder struggling from 3, we need Korver's presence early. At least for now.

Lue needs to grow a pair. Korver's a starter on this team. JR's play hasn't been even remotely acceptable. If he pouts -- so what? I doubt a coach like Pop would allow JR's wild chuckfest to continue because he's worried that the player will react like an adolescent. It's just common sense at this point. Korver has been light years better just as he was last season.

Wade said the starters have to start playing better and the first step toward doing that? Identify exactly who should be starting.

Also, I'd really like to see Lue use TT's injury as an excuse to give Lil Z some playing time when Love is on the floor. Now's as great of a time as any considering how horrendous his rotations have been. I understand the concern regarding Z making rookie mistakes, but at the very least he could provide some form of interior defense and rebounding, while allowing Love to slide back to PF where he's more comfortable.

You want to get your players playing well. They're trying to make Jr feel more confident. Mozgoving him isn't a great idea.

Your concern regarding JR's emotional state is very noble of you, but that doesn't change the fact that JR has no business starting over Korver.

It's got nothing to do with nobility. How did you pull that out of my post? Are you confused as to why I referenced Mozgov?

I'll give Lue slack on starting JR because JR is theoretically supposed to make threes. That is on JR. But now JR has had his fair chance and the obvious move is to start Korver next game.

I would normally agree on this, JR is a very emotional guy and he needs confidence pumped into him like an IV.

Problem is that hes been bad for so long now, been looking like a headless chicken running around on defense and just bad offensively for around a year plus now, when do you say enough is enough and pull the plug?

Korver is a better and way smarter defender, also has a way more consistent outside shot, but still to be honest none of this really matters that way or the other we're still getting destroyed by GS with this coach and non existent offensive/defensive systems.
