Welcome Marquese Chriss

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think we saw some good ball movement last night when Love was in the game. I actually wanted Nik Stauskas to stay because at least we would have a willing spot up shooter and hopefully would improve ball movement. I know Stauskas isn't a great 3 pt shooter but he probably would have been average and that would have at least developed better habits in our guards.

Doesn't it seem like guys are more willing to shoot the 3 right now . I have to imagine the attempts are up.

Collin isn't feeling allergic to it

Clarkson is taking a fair amount

Adel is willing to shoot

Delly

Chris now

Nance should probably take one more 3 a game

Feels different than 2 months ago when I was screaming "shoot the ball!!!" At the tv lol

Erie Bayhawks....getting 7 minutes a game. I wish we could get the story of why suddenly the Cavs decide to waive him. They seemed committed to him and he had his best game right before they let him go.
Me to it makes no sense.

I think most of us are trying not to get our hopes up. People also say he is the dumbest player of all time. He secured a loose ball last night so lazy with one hand that they just looked it away again.

I'd love to have gotten a legit piece and his raw talent is undeniable. He gets that 3 up so fast it's pretty amazing. He can jump 3 times so quick, but the lazy first attempt that made him have to jump 3 times is not great.

The big question I guess is so you want to give him minutes over Zizic . I don't
I see him as strictly a power forward, Zizic is strictly a center, so I don't see a conflict.

FWIW I don't see Nance as a center either, I think he sucks as a 5.

This isn't true though...he went scoreless in his last two games with the Charge.

Sexton is finally warming up to shooting the three with less hesitation. Nwaba has always been pretty willing but his stroke was broken for awhile, now it looks like he got it back. Adel still hesitates, double clutches, and passes up too many threes. Nance almost always hesitates and double clutches.

Chriss looks smooth and confident so far after one game. No idea if this is who he is consistently.

Delly just seems to be completely broken and discombobulated. He looks like he's shooting with a separated shoulder, and there's been a lid on the basket for everything he throws up.

All in all it's better now than when the whole squad minus JC was totally afraid to launch a three, passing them up for drives into traffic or long twos.

We can still get something for him. We could sign him if he shows signs of life. He would get playing time on our team next year.. he is as good a prospect as any second rounder, in that we know he has the skills and the physical gifts.. he might be a dufus, but hey there are a lot of dufus players still valued in the league..

This isn't true though...he went scoreless in his last two games with the Charge.

He played with the charge for a couple more games before they traded him to the Bayhawks. He had his best game with the charge just a couple days before being dropped from his two way contract with the Cavs.

Big picture though, he played 10 games with the Charge. Games 1-6 were mostly bad, game 7 was really good, and then games 8-10 were really bad. Oodles of guys have one good game in G-League. Doesn't mean they all have NBA potential. Sometimes it really is just a flash in the pan and nothing more.

We have probably talked about this before. I think most people thought Preston had a long way to go since he never really played in college. Making a decision on him 10 games just seemed too quick. They signed him to a 2 year contract and most of the stuff they put out seem to indicate they knew it was going to be a longer developmental project.

I don't mind how they are using the two way contracts right now. I do think they could have kept Preston on a two way and just used Holland's two way like they have for Blossomgame, Adel, or Jones then used 10 day contracts for the other guys. They seem like they are in a holding pattern with Blossomgame. We didn't need 45 days of Jones. Not sure we need 45 days of Adel either.

I'm not too excited about Blossomgame or Jones, but Adel's just a few months older than Preston, and he appears to be better than him in pretty much every possible way. How is he not a more worthwhile prospect?

It's not that he isn't a worthwhile prospect. I actually think for a long term guy, Adel, might have a higher ceiling than both Jones and Blossomgame. They way they are playing him though feels like Payne, Jones, and Harrison where they are just using him as a body. I can't put my finger on why it feels that way but the way they played Blossomgame just feels like they want to keep him and not kill all his 45 all at once.

I dunno what they see in Blossomgame either. I'm a Clemson native, actually, so I'd love to see him succeed, but don't see much potential. If it were up to me we'd have Adel and Colson on two-ways.

But whatever. Really hope we don't bring Chriss back and make him a rotation guy next year. Starting to look too much like the Suns around here if we do.

I think Blossomgame ability to play both SF and PF seems to be increasingly more valuable in today's nba. Blossomgame seems to have a good motor too.

I'm not sure where Chriss fits on the team though when everyone is healthy. Unless he can play both forward positions and has a consistent 3 point shot, we will end up carrying too many PFs.

I think that was one of the problems during the last rebuild, PFs just seem easier to find and dont seem to have the value of other positions. The big wing type that is forward size but has wing skills is valuable but a pure PF with a inconsistent 3 pt shot is almost worthless in trade value.

The Cavaliers couldn't get in the way of Sauce Across America. Nobody could. Stauskas was destined to join as many teams as possible this season and share the sauce.

So if he plays the same level as last night, we will be able to flip him next year

He's an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year, so the Cavs would have to resign him--
