Is this where the wheels fall off for Miller?

Cleveland, where shooters lose their touch. Seriously though, when is this guy going to drain a 3?

Absolutely zero worry about Miller from me.

You don't go from a consistent 40% three point shooter for your career and lose it in one off season.

This is quite simply the case of new surroundings, a new offense, fractured minutes, and guys just finding their way.

Jeez, you'd think he started 0 for his first 20 or something.. You guys do realize he only missed his first 5 attempts, in sporadic playing time, right?

No worries at all.

It's guys like this that have left some too wounded to give other players a chance (even if those players have a great track record). :chuckle:

I'm not worried about Miller's shooting. I'm worried about everything else. He can't guard a door anymore. I was hoping he could give us 15-20 minutes a night but I don't think that's gonna happen.

He was a key contributor on the Memphis team last year. You don't lose that in 4 months. He is fine, way too early.

Exactly. Shooters are best when they are comfortable. Right now Cavs are anything but comfortable with each other. But it will get there. If I remember correctly Miller didn't not have much of an impact with the heat for a while their first season. Then Pretty much out of nowhere had that huge couple of games in the finals. Thats what we need is for him to keep people honest while defending him.

We got our new Lucious Harris!!!

Let's see how everyone starts shooting my the end of December. The schedule makers were not kind to the Cavs. I toss out the first game as an aberration, but starting abrand new team on a four game road/west trip hurts more than helps.

So far, it's just been posturing by players trying to get high up in the pecking order--some self interest. I think it is and will continue to sort itself out.

Blatt doesn't have the street cred to dictate more passing, etc. LeBron does.

I think we'll see better shooting from all as early as the end of this month, after we've played 8 of 10 on the road.

I was going to wait until 10 games in, but I went ahead and put a poll on this thread.

Its time to send ol' Mike to the glue factory.

I agree. Never had been an iron man or great defender and now his legs aren't there. That's a bad thing for a shooter.

I don't see him bringing anything on the court better than Harris. He can provide leadership in the locker room though, so I don't mind him on the team.

He was a shell of his former self in the regular season for Miami and look what he did in the finals. To write him off this early is a tad disrespectful. Would you rather him go ape-shit now and slow in the postseason or not hit another 3 until the finals where he explodes for 5 off the bench without a shoe on?

He's averaging all of 14 minutes per game on the season, including 3 minutes in the opener. Plus, he didn't exactly get a ton of touches up until a game or two ago, and attempted all of 3 shots through the first 4 games..

Blatt even alluded to the fact that he needs to get Miller more time with the Big 3 to allow him to be more effective.

He had flashes of solid D against New Orleans and his shooting will be there as he gets more looks & plays more with the Big 3.

You can't write off Miller in big moments. Obviously he hasn't had the greatest of starts to the season, but this is a guy who has been an absolute dead-eye from the arc his entire career and is a phenomenal locker room guy.

It's going to take him some time to get going, much like it's taking the entire team to get going but when he begins to hit his stride, I can see the team utilizing Mike in a fluent system of ball movement whereby the final touch with 2 seconds on the shot clock will result in a Miller 3 - much like we had envisioned it when he first signed.
