Welcome Shawn Marion #31

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I see Marion playing about 12 MPG as the backup SF, and 12 MPG as the backup PF.

Realistic?

Yeah I don't see him playing loads bit any extra rest LeBron gets over the course of the season could be huge.

...and still be effective from October-June, definitely. He averaged over 30 a game last year. He will be fine. I mean if there's a bump or bruise, you can bump that up to 30 as a replacement starter for a night here and there.

I correlate this signing to the signing of Battier for the Heat. When Battier signed with the Heat I felt as if they had just got the perfect piece/player to give them the edge to make it to the Finals and to potentially win it all. Hope my feeling is correct with Marion too for the same results!

It makes me so happy when I hear people's disbelief at the fact that "Shawn Marion signed for "$1.4 million to play in CLEVELAND, OHIO?" - doesn't get better :)

I mean, I get that Cleveland isn't the best NBA city to live in, but it's also not some desolate, post-apocalyptic wasteland.

That would be Detroit.

Right. Although the way some people talk about the entire state of Ohio, you'd think it was a baron wasteland where zombies and ex-convicts procreate to give birth to some kind of futuristic super demons.

Either way, let them think whatever they like as we watch them eat their words and fall down backwards off their ESPN high horse.

Dude this is why I don't take ESPN (especially First Take) seriously anymore.

The last time I watched skip he suggested we trade Kyrie straight up for Kevin Love

This time he says our starting lineup will be Kyrie, Lebron, Love, Tristan Thompson, and AV.

Can't stand it..

I couldn't believe it when I heard him say that. It's one of those things where you can't believe the person actually thinks that way but somehow they believe every word that is coming out of their mouth.

The anti-Ohio bias exhibited by not only the media, but by ignorant fans around the country is laughable. When i am in other cities and tell people that i was born and raised in Columbus, CHOSE to stay home to go to Ohio State over other schools, and decided to find a job in Columbus, people look at me like i am crazy.

Time's are a changing' people...Over the rhine in Cincy isn't nearly as scary anymore. Ohio City in Cleveland continues to see growth and Cbus is becoming one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

So next time some out-of-towner looks at you like some corn-fed moron, feel free to let them know that Ohio is home to the smartest city in the US.

I think we'll likely see Lebron and Love get about 36 minutes a game, and we will see Mike Miller & Tristan Thompson get regular minutes as forwards. If that's the case, then there probably won't be 24 minutes available for Marion unless he gets ahead of both Mike Miller and Tristan Thompson in the rotation or there is an injury.

Thompson will see Center minutes. Miller will see some 2 guard minutes. Average wise, we probably won't see Marion average over 20 a night, that's fine, for an older roster, that's what you want. Same as what SA was able to do, sit some guys full games throughout the regular season to have them ready in May-June is the goal. That said, you really really have to believe that Blatt is going to instill in these guys that the system is bigger than any one player......just like how Pop has programmed into the guys not named Parker, Manu and Duncan.

Not going to lie, with all the blowouts we should have, 36mpg for LeBron would be a failure in my eyes. I expect this team to win less games than the 09 team, but the talent level is just so much higher, and the fit on paper looks absolutely perfect.
