Welcome Shawn Marion #31

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
his days in PHX were exciting, that offense was crazy. He is a veteran, I have no doubt he will have a moment or two in the postseason.

These days whenever I see Marion play I think of Phillip Seymour Hoffman from Along Came Polly.

Oh Marion....why couldn't you have come to this decision sooner?...like before this season.

Do you guys think he will be a HOFer?

His numbers say he should be.
I totally agree. He's never been a favorite player of mine to watch, yet, he was great in both Phoenix and Dallas as a star who developed into a role player.

I want to argue that he should've made at least one All-Defensive team, but that's kind of hard to do when you play in the era of Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan.

No. He's simply a player who you'll remember as good, a borderline all-star at times. He'll be forgotten with the likes of Antoine Walker, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Latrell Spreewell and the like.

Who is that?... Anyways so many good players that are forgotten I am trying to think of more. A newer player like Redd and is one oh and Jamal Mashburn is another that comes to mind

not many guys in pro sports get to decided when they are done playing. I am happy for the matrix

Have to disagree. He'll be remembered in a more positive light if only for his role with the Mavs in their title run. That shouldn't be the case either because he was a far better player than any of those guys. None of those three were two-way players. Marion could guard any position, and guard it well. It's a shame Phoenix never made a finals because he was probably the 2nd most important piece to those teams.

This sucks. Literally my favorite player of the last 15+ yrs, and he's retiring as soon as we get him. I wanted to see him run beside Andy off the bench next year, and now it won't happen.

A borderline all star at times? He's a four time All Star who played a bunch of playoff games and consistently put up seasons Along the lines of:

20ppg, 10rpg, 2stls, 1.5blks on 45-50% fg, 35% 3pt and 85% FTs.

There's probably only 2-3 guys each year that put up numbers like that, if that.

He should be a sure-fire HOF'er in my book.

Absolutely.

A definite hall of famer for me as well. Isn't a first ballot hall of famer but he has to be there. Hopefully, The Matrix can retire with a ring. :)
