Welcome Shawn Marion #31

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think Marion is a sure thing for the hall of fame but I definitely think he has a chance. Mainly because honestly, it's not that hard to get into the Hall of Fame as many people seem to think. I took a trip to see the Hall of Fame enshrinement a few years ago and there were a lot of people who aren't exactly household names being enshrined.

IE: How many of you have heard of the "All American Red Heads?"

He seems redundant and would take time from the youth. I dont think he adds anything to the team.

It may have been mentioned (I haven't read anything after this post), but it really can't be said enough.. he'd not only add elite shooting, he'd be the absolute perfect guy to show Kyrie & Dion how to play off the ball, which they both need to improve in order to play with LeBron.

He may be one dimensional at this point in his career, but he's still an elite shooter & there's not many in NBA history who have been better at getting shooting space & getting shots off than Ray Allen. He'd absolutely bring a ton to this team, a lot of which will help develop Kyrie & Dion's games.

Solid defender and his length will cause threats out there when James is on the bench. Nice pickup.

Loving the depth here now. Is LeBron the ultimate recruiter or what.

We are now one rim-protector away from being the best team in the NBA. And this, after being a clown-car last year. Surely, I must be dreaming. I don't recall a rags-to-riches team quite like this one in any sport.

I really like what The Matrix brings to the team. The Clippers wanted him bad, and for good reason, but GM Lebron made the call, and that was that. His bag of tricks are going to come in real handy on this Finals-bound squad.

Both MoFlo and Tornicade have good points though... Ray Allen will invariably take away minutes from Dion Waiters, and make Delly totally unnecessary. However, the time spent both on and off the floor with Ray Allen could really help both Kyrie and Dion learn how to play off the ball and that could be a great asset to both of them moving forward in the backcourt together.

I don't think there is a better off-the-ball SG since Jordan.. I also have Allen ahead of Miller for those interested.. I think Allen can teach our youth a lot, and if that costs Waiters a few minutes a game, and Delly substantial time, then so be it. I think that sacrifice would probably be for the greater good of the franchise players (and I'm including Waiters in that assessment).

Who is better than the Cavaliers right now?

I'm guessing folks will say the Spurs... But most analysts don't even have them coming out of the West. I think time has to start taking a toll on Ginobili and Duncan, if not Tony Parker (who isn't that old). And yes, with the emergence of Kawhi they have another option at forward - but I strongly feel that the Cavaliers can best them in 7, if not 6.

Unlike the Heat, we have multiple offensive options that are well suited to play with one another. We're not fitting square pegs into round holes the way Spolestra/Riley built that team. We have the two best isolation players in the league in Irving and James, and one of the best PFs in the NBA who just happens to be able to shoot from anywhere and rebound. Now we've got Marion and Allen on deck and I didn't even mention Waiters, Varejao, Mike Miller, Delly, or Tristan.

Yeah.. I'm not buying it.

Cavaliers are my favorites to win the Finals... Not next year. This year.

Have people still not learned to never count out the Spurs? How many years now have "analysts" been saying they are getting old, tired, etc. They'll be there at the end, trust me.

Half of my post is dedicated to seeing them in the end and crushing them... I have no fear of the Spurs with our squad. I fear no one.

The issue for the Spurs will be their health and motivation. They were lazer focused last year, playing some of the most beautiful basketball the NBA has EVER seen. The ball movement was beyond exquisite and, if it continues this year will decimate opposing defenses again. But one has to wonder if the taste of losing the year before was the driving factor for the team being so locked in.

The West is a better conference still, and until the Spurs are eliminated, I gotta think they are the favs. I don't mind the Cavs having to play against a team they think is a little better- with LBJ it will only motivate them more.

Imagine if we actually do secure a decent rim protector as the off-season comes to a close, ON TOP of what we've already accomplished?

Heck, I'm going to be buying some lotto tickets and engaging in stunts that would certainly push the boundaries of reality.

What's crazy is that I thought getting Kyrie felt good. Then getting 2 number 1 picks felt better. Then this off season has felt ever better than that.

Can anyone actually quantify what it'd feel like to win a championship? Goodness me, I need to lie down...
